First night tonight at 7pm BBC2

I always look forward to the Proms and will watch as many as I can. A highlight of summer for me.

Splendid concert this evening. I love having a live orchestra in my living room!

Really looking forward to tonight’s concert.

What a joy to listen to Weber and Schumann tonight after the turbulence of the 6 o'clock news.

Yes isn’t it?

I’ve had a fraught week and feel a bit wrung out. This is just what I need - along with a chilled Sauvignon Blanc. 🤣

Yes, that was a joy!

Very much enjoyed Andras Schiff’s Schumann tonight, and his encores!

What a wonderful performance from Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha. Such sublime singing and Pata Pata at the end made me think of our dear Phoenix

The National Youth Orchestra are joyous tonight!

Last Night seems to have come round quickly this year. Just settling down for a night of great music and singing. 🥳🇬🇧🇬🇧👏👏🍷

Doesn't it just!
I think these very hot evenings lead us to believe it's still high summer!
I really enjoy Marin Alsop. Excellent documentary about her not long ago, IIRC.

Oh yes sad

I always feel sad when the Last Night is over. Although the weather is telling us otherwise it really is the end of summer. Time to pack away the memories that the music always evokes and get on with getting on. 🙃🤣

Andras Schiff played wonderfully a concerto, and then after going out and coming in and doing that again he did a grade 4 piece by Schumann about a merry farmer coming home from work, it was rather a come down after such a big concerto
on the steinway piano, but I think it was good because it proved that children's music does really have a place at the Proms, to inspire the beginners as well as the more advanced.
