I dont understand why people think that they would recognise more than a couple of the celebrities, Strictly is aimed at a wide audience so includes people from all forms of entertainment, TV,sport,radio,podcasts,influencers,authors etc also different age groups.

It wouldn’t bother me if the contestants were just everyday people, it’s seeing them learn to dance and perform that I enjoy watching, not their fame

I thought all 4 of the Strictly pros were impressive on DIY SOS.
I recognise about half the celebrities, which is the norm, though each year I do enjoy finding out about a couple of ones I don't know.
I also record it, starting to watch it about 30 minutes after the start, and skip the boring bits.

I thought Katya was lovely on tonight's episode of SOS DIY. The way she talked to the girl with Downs Syndrome, and learnt to sign with the dance pupils, changed my opinion of her no end.

I have just read that "Strictly" starts on 23 September. Thought you'd all like to know

Looking forward to it. And although I don't know several of the names, so often in the past, I've ended up rooting for someone I'd never heard of at the start!

I love that Strictly is nearly here again, haven’t heard of many of them, but they will become familiar.
Not a big fan of all the nonsense with Claudia and Tess, but love the dancing, and all the glitter and sparkle.

I worried all night that this year once again someone on GN might not realise that you don't mention the spoiler result until at least the Monday after the Saturday before !
