Anyone watching? Very gory, but in a blackly comic way.

Sparklefizz Mon 20-Nov-23 08:40:57

Thanks Clawdy. If it's gory, I'll give it a miss.

sodapop Mon 20-Nov-23 08:49:20

It's a strange format but interesting, I'll keep watching.

Sar53 Mon 20-Nov-23 08:57:55

Very gory but strangely compelling. I think we will carry on watching.

Jaxjacky Mon 20-Nov-23 09:14:15

We loved it, reminded us of Knives Out and The Glass Onion.

rubysong Mon 20-Nov-23 09:19:05

The trailer looked interesting but there was too much brutality for me. I lasted about 10 minutes then turned over.

rosie1959 Mon 20-Nov-23 09:31:57

Watched the whole series yesterday on BBC IPlayer certainly plenty of blood and guts and quite honestly gets dafter the further the story goes on

Redhead56 Mon 20-Nov-23 09:47:05

I started watching it but it wasn’t the serious drama I was expecting so changed channels to watch something else.

BlueBelle Mon 20-Nov-23 09:52:29

I watched it and shall carry on
Got to be one of the most violent gory dramas I ve ever watched
Rather liked the unusual format but not sure about the story line I ll see how it goes

I have recorded it but will delete after these comments. I've had enough of murder, violence, blood and serial killers. What is wrong with the BBC that they can't write about anything else? The only thing I'm enjoying at the moment is The Newsreader which is absolutely wonderful.

Calendargirl Mon 20-Nov-23 10:25:57

I watched the first half hour, but felt it was going to turn out one of those ‘waste of time’ watches.

The fact that all episodes are already out on I player usually mean they don’t expect great things of it IMHO.

Didn’t look at the cast, but was the tailor the French detective from ‘The Missing’?

BlueBelle Mon 20-Nov-23 11:05:40

Calandergirl I thought it was him, his voice was so familiar and I loved him in the Missing but that was a good while ago and he looked different now, but just older I guess I didn’t stop to look at the cast either

Pittcity Mon 20-Nov-23 11:27:23

I've watched the first 2 episodes and am enjoying it. Dark humour which is very Tarantinoesque. Starring Tcheky Karyo who I loved as Baptiste. Same writers as The Tourist and The Missing. I'll binge the rest.

I enjoyed the second series of The Newsreader too.

Oldbat1 Mon 20-Nov-23 11:34:54

Dont usually like blood/gore but I found it quite compelling. Will definitely watch the next one.

BigBertha1 Mon 20-Nov-23 14:59:01

Not sure what to make of this a bit violent for me. Hopefully they have got that all out of the way in the first week - I fell asleep anyway come to think of it.

Farmor15 Mon 20-Nov-23 15:19:35

Calendargirl and BlueBelle - yes, the tailor was the detective from the Missing (Tcheky Karyo) as Pittcity said.

I found it quite compelling - not to be taken seriously!

eazybee Mon 20-Nov-23 17:12:03

I got as far as someone having his tongue cut out, and switched off.

NanaTuesday Mon 20-Nov-23 17:22:38

Mmm, I started watching today. My thoughts are the same as others ,very gory in parts , a black comedy with some interesting characters .

Fairislecable Mon 20-Nov-23 18:27:27

I was shocked at just how gory this was. I think it was attempting to emulate Killing Eve but the lingering gore and random violence rendered it unwatchable for me.

Such a shame as it appears to have a good cast.

Hildagard Mon 20-Nov-23 19:59:01

Brilliant cast, foul language and unnecessary violence a no no for me. Had bad dream about.tongue yuk!

Glorianny Mon 20-Nov-23 22:38:49

eazybee

I got as far as someone having his tongue cut out, and switched off.

Me too. Well actually I turned off before the actual cut. I 'm too squeamish for stuff like that.

BlueBelle Mon 20-Nov-23 22:41:51

Is it just two episodes or is there more ?
I m not particularly Squamish sort of can’t not look but it’s certainly OTT in the violence stakes

rosie1959 Tue 21-Nov-23 05:33:43

There are 6 episodes Bluebell all on iPlayer

BlueBelle Tue 21-Nov-23 06:44:17

Thanks Rosie I don’t want to binge watch got to watch 2 again managed to fall asleep during it last night can’t say I m actually enjoying it I ll give it a bit longer

hazelnuts Tue 21-Nov-23 12:34:40

Equal I got as far as the tongue episode and swithced off
I dont need any more violence in my life I think we have all got enough and can someone explain how humour can come in to the violence shown
Not for me I am afraid the tongue removal was really gory
