Has anybody watched the 2nd series of 'The Traitors' on BBC1 / iPlayer tonight?

I really, really liked the 1st series last year - so much so that I also watched the US & Australian versions on iPlayer to ease withdrawal symptoms when it finished 😂.

Another obsession is about to start I think.......

Love it! Won’t binge watch as not much else on TV.
What do people think about the suggestion, which was quickly glossed over, that there is a mother and child combination on the programme? “Just sayin’ “

I won't spoil it for anyone (I've watched 3 episodes on iPlayer), but episodes 2&3 are real eye openers about 2 supposed 'honest & truthful' faithfuls!)

I always think the tasks are good. At first they seem impossible in the time but almost always work out.

What you see is the edited version which is not filmed in real time. Extra time is allocated when necessary so that tasks are completed just as they are supposed to, and everything works out exactly as the BBC want it to work out. It's the same with I'm a Celeb. They show you what they want you to see.

Fair enough. It's all good viewing and entertainment.

Didn’t watch last series but friends did and raved about it. So watching this series and certainly it has got me hooked. And I do like Diane.

I’ve just watched the first two episodes, really enjoying it, but do not like Diane

The first series passed me by despite suggestions from my grandchildren to watch it . Will I need to watch series 1 to get the new series or could I go straight there ?

Thank you nanaK54. I’ll dive into series 2 this week and catch up with everyone 😊

I really don't like Charlotte any more. She told a blatant lie about Zack who she has taken a dislike to. Zack casually dropped a general jokey comment about dinner being 'the last supper' which Charlotte then told Miles he had said 'YOUR last supper' (to her). Then she told a whole room full of people he had said 'what, your last supper?' (again to her). So now everyone believes that Zack has said something nasty to Charlotte which is totally untrue. She's a liar and I don't like her for that.

SPOILERS IN HERE.

I disliked Ash from the start even on the journey so I'd be happy to see her go.
Paul, Sonia and Harry were also on my "not drawn to you" list and I was annoyed that Paul and Harry were chosen as they were so obvious choices.

I find myself liking Jaz and Zack - but also think others probably won't so much. I also feel for Brian as I think he's probably quite soft. I don't want him to go yet.

I was also disappointed when the traitors picked Miles (? the Veterinary nurse) as I was finding him warm and genuine and didn't want to see him in that position.

Dianne doesn't bug me as much as some others though - and I do like the other veterinary nurse (Evie?).

I have just watched the first 3 episodes with my husband - and we weren't surprised at the voting. I think the men will do better without her - but obviously we don't know the end result yet here.

You are right about Charlotte Chestnut - she seems pretty brittle too.

As Chestnut says, viewers should not always trust what they get shown. Any such series is heavily edited to manipulate viewers --- it gets called "reality TV" but it's about as "reality" as a panto! It's a good vehicle for Goth Claudia though.

Anyone viewed Traitors Uncloaked on IPlayer?
Contestants that have been banished or murdered are interviewed to give their views on who they think the Traitors are. It’s good fun.

I said in the first series that creeping around the castle in a long cloak, with her black eyes and long back fringe, well it's the perfect role for her!

Yes, timelines etc. are manipulated but there are things that you can see and hear which cannot be changed, like Charlotte lying about Zack which I mentioned. The words came out of her mouth and we heard them.

All shows are edited. That's what TV does. Even the news is "selective".

We are simply enjoying what we are presented with.
Nobody believes it's all factually correct, surely!
Even if we were contestants we'd only know some of what goes on/is said.

It's purely entertainment.

aquagran Sun 07-Jan-24 11:01:03

It’s just entertainment. No spoilers please, why spoil it for others. Just let’s speculate and enjoy!

NotSpaghetti Sun 07-Jan-24 17:26:32

Please feel free to scoot past spoilers as I do elsewhere.

Could anyone explain Traitors to me, please?

I haven’t got a clue 🤷‍♀️

Oooohhhh that sounds good - I'll definitely have a look. thanks 👍

It's based in a castle and twenty some people go to try to win a pot of money. Some are "faithful" and some are chosen to be "traitors".

The faithful have to vote out the traitors before they are "murdered" by the traitors. Obviously the faithful don't actually know who the traitors are so keep voting off "suspicious" faithful.

NotSpaghetti Sun 07-Jan-24 17:35:04

The traitors win the money if any one of them is left at the end and faithful win if not.

Just watch it and Claudia explains everything in the first episode. You can't really get it from reading a few words.

Chestnut Mon 08-Jan-24 11:06:48

If Ash is NOT voted out then that really will cause havoc in the tower when they meet up again. The traitors were working as a team but now it is clear they will not hesitate to destroy each other. I think this is too early in the game for that. They should have stuck together as a team until at least half the faithfuls were gone.

GeorgeKirrin Mon 08-Jan-24 11:35:07

I'm new to this series and loving it so far. Can anyone explain please - do all the traitors share the money at the end if one of them is left in or just the one left in?
