Has anybody watched the 2nd series of 'The Traitors' on BBC1 / iPlayer tonight?

I really, really liked the 1st series last year - so much so that I also watched the US & Australian versions on iPlayer to ease withdrawal symptoms when it finished šŸ˜‚.

Another obsession is about to start I think.......

I predict that Paul won’t make it to the end.😜

I love it and am hooked! I didn't see the first series so intend to watch that at a later date.
I also think Paul won't make it, but Harry might do, as long as Paul doesn't throw him under the bus.

Farzanah Sun 14-Jan-24 11:27:30

I hope you’re right Oreo.

Aveline Sun 14-Jan-24 11:36:03

If Jaz is voted out then the people he's spoken about Paul to will know Paul's a traitor. I think his days are numbered.
I agree that baby faced Harry is likely to make it to the end.

BlueBelle Sun 14-Jan-24 11:37:56

Sara I’m enjoying it too but not as much as the first one maybe it was all new and exciting first time round, but now we kind of know what to expect more
I don’t think Paul will be in the end game maybe Harry and Miles they are both very likeable Harry’s only 22 so he couldn’t have been in the army very long

There are so many sub-plots going on my head is spinning! I wonder how they remember all the sneaky conversations they've had and with who. It must be easy to make a mistake and say the wrong thing or speak to the wrong person.

Paul is the arch-manipulator who not only attracts followers but can make them do his bidding. As they said on Traitors Uncloaked, this makes him so powerful that people are scared to name him. Therefore anyone suspecting him will not want to risk it. Jaz is not falling for his tricks but will have to play his cards carefully about suspecting Paul. Can anyone remember, did he mention his suspicions to Harry? I think he did, in which case he is at huge risk. I really don't want Jaz to be eliminated but he is smart and that makes him a target.

I have a feeling the final group will consist of a few vanilla type faithfuls and a very smart traitor. The faithfuls who will make it through are the ones who are no threat and do not get themselves murdered.

Farzanah Sun 14-Jan-24 16:09:55

Jaz should be recruited by the Secret Services šŸ˜€

Farzanah Sun 14-Jan-24 16:10:38

Psychopaths would do well in this game.

BlueBelle Sun 14-Jan-24 17:10:26

I think Jaz is doing a good job and seems a nice fella
I wouldn’t want to go out with Paul the lies he could tell with a smile on his face

Sara1954 Sun 14-Jan-24 17:28:57

I agree that Jaz seems nice, but I think he’s the only one that I can really take to.

toscalily Sun 14-Jan-24 17:59:19

I think more faithfuls will start to suspect Paul the arch manipulator, he is playing the game well. Just hope Jaz does not become too outspoken as I want him to stay in. I did not watch the first series when it was broadcast but caught up later on player and watched over several evenings so am finding this rather drawn out.

Why did nobody notice the three traitors looking for the books?
Why would anybody drink from the chalice when all the time they are drinking from glasses?

Chestnut Mon 15-Jan-24 00:05:52

Farzanah

Psychopaths would do well in this game.

I clocked Paul as a psychopath right from the start because he has all the traits. He was so excited and gleeful to be a traitor, and has shown no emotion except regarding his children, which was faked to save himself and make himself seem vulnerable. He draws people to him and then manipulates them. It is fascinating to see him in action and I hope he makes it through to the end but then loses, just to see his reaction. This is the perfect game for him.

I understand Paul is in "management" - if so thank goodness nobody I care about is "managed" by him!

I would be wary of him as an employee too... And would not trust him.

I agree NotSpaghetti šŸ‘.

He is coming across as probably being a sociopath in real life!
He is completely self absorbed and dillusional about his self importance.

RosiesMaw Wed 17-Jan-24 21:48:45

Nooooooo!
Paul is playing a blinder!
If I encountered him in my professional life I would not trust him as far as I could throw him.

merlotgran Wed 17-Jan-24 22:14:03

He’s a psychopath! 😮😮

nanaK54 Wed 17-Jan-24 22:21:15

I reckon his days are numbered

BlueBelle Wed 17-Jan-24 22:34:45

I don’t actually think Paul is playing a blinder I think Harry is much cooler and working things out better and is ahead of the horrid Paul who would make a good ā€˜boo hiss’ actor
Hoping Paul goes out next

YorkLady Wed 17-Jan-24 23:12:20

I really want Harry to win. He’s so devious and so good!
Amazing TV 😁

Chestnut Wed 17-Jan-24 23:43:57

Harry is playing a wonderful game with some very clever moves whilst seeming to be so innocent. He deserves to win and I think he will if he keeps being so convincing.

Paul made a very clever move in eliminating Miles, and some of the more dopey ones are now convinced he is a faithful. He was lapping it up when they all snuggled up to him on the sofa.

Claudia warned them about crocodile tears and sure enough Paul was sobbing at the table tonight.

Jaz was very quiet. I'm still hoping he and Zack will be able to take Paul down before the final. The girls seem very bland and no threat to anyone so they will probably make the final.

cornergran Thu 18-Jan-24 07:33:50

Recent ā€˜murders’ have all been women. I sit and mutter mysoginsts or maybe it’s really women are the bigger threat.

Personally I thoroughly dislike Paul and truly don’t understand why more people aren’t wary of him. Thinking about his professional life I can’t see anyone watching the programme trusting him. Or maybe he’ll have a change of career and become an actor.

Harry might find Paul manoeuvres people into voting him out, he’s too great a threat.

Whatever happens we’ll keep watching, I find the interaction between the individuals fascinating while appreciating we don’t see the whole picture - any more than the players do.

shysal Thu 18-Jan-24 09:41:48

Wow! I really enjoyed last night's episode!

Aveline Thu 18-Jan-24 10:09:30

I just want to cut to Paul's speech when he's voted out!
