Anyone watching One Day? I read the book by David Nicholls back in 2009 and enjoyed it so much that I deliberately avoided the film version starring Anne Hathaway trying to do a Yorkshire accent.

But ... I decided to give the new version on NF a try, and it is lovely and beautifully acted and now that I'm getting close to the end I am starting to feel bereft already.

Just a tip - have your hankie ready!

Spoiler alert!!!
Jane… at least Dexter didn’t ever pretend to be anything other than what he was. But Emma had an affair with a married man, something that in the real world I have never been able to find understandable or forgivable. Although I did find it out of character for her and a storyline that imo was unnecessary.

Yes, when you mentioned things being 'out of character' for Emma I wondered if that is what you meant but she knew it was wrong.

I think Dexter was a good man who sometimes did bad things. Emma was strong, Dexter was weak.

I watched this over a few days, it is so hard to find a decent series to watch these days and I enjoyed it so much, the casting was perfect, now I am disappointed it is over. The final episode was so unexpected as I hadn’t read the book. If anybody can recommend another series as good I would appreciate it.

I’ve just started listening to One Day on BorrowBox, after a long wait. It’s a bit slow at the moment (Ch. 2), but I’ll stick with it and hope that it improves.
