Starting tonight on Channel 5.

A four-parter, starring Sally Lindsay.

The title says it all.

I intend to watch, no doubt it will turn out a bit of disappointment, as many of these dramas do, but it’s some thing to tune in to, plus some sunshine and nice scenery, Cyprus I think.

Where did she get the car from, to follow the waitress/barmaid?

Had she already hired it?

🤷‍♀️

Oldbat1 Tue 12-Mar-24 21:34:39

Weak!

RosiesMaw Tue 12-Mar-24 21:43:52

I agree- ham acting, thin storyline, poor script. 😟😟

BlueBelle Tue 12-Mar-24 21:57:02

Oh dear it’s not getting any better The daughter is an awful
actress and it’s all totally unbelievable She just manages to walk into a villa and find the key to the drawer where the passport is kept !!!
Blimey need an IQ in single digits to watch this was it written by a child
It’s getting sillier and sillier

Doodledog Tue 12-Mar-24 22:32:31

What is it with Ch5 dramas? They get good people in the roles, and clearly have high budgets, but the scripts are often weak and silly. Why is that?

OldFrill Tue 12-Mar-24 22:40:43

It is a comedy, isn't it? 😀

merlotgran Tue 12-Mar-24 22:48:57

I’ve given up!

Kate1949 Tue 12-Mar-24 23:12:35

My husband said 'Blimey do they know how long it takes to hir a car abroad?' grin

Chestnut Tue 12-Mar-24 23:47:47

I'm sure this is actually Madame Blanc. Her crime solving abilities are exactly the same! No Police force can keep up with her, she outsmarts them all.

Kate1949 Tue 12-Mar-24 23:53:22

Yes Chestnut. It became comically predictable at the end. Unfortunately we are sucked in now. We need to know what happens!

Allsorts Wed 13-Mar-24 05:52:00

Very poor, predictable. Those tents she wears, not a good look. But they get paid for it.

Calendargirl Wed 13-Mar-24 06:53:43

Well, I predict the final episode will have either her or the ex husband shooting Nico, either that or somehow Nico will tumble into the sea and drown, probably speeding away in his stolen yacht.

I had to laugh when Emma was running away and hurt her foot, surely George would have managed to shoot her, hobbling away!

Will have to keep watching, but oh, so daft!

( The policewoman used to be in Corrie, she was a practice manager or something at the surgery).

BlueBelle Wed 13-Mar-24 07:16:14

I didn’t recognise the police woman but where’s the car come from, where’s the money for hotel rooms come from, how did the daughter just get a plane over night and arrive, how did she manage to walk into the house and knock the lamp over that showed the key for the desk? how did she drive to a woodland miles away and manage to meet the perpetrator,
with no directions how did a chubby middle age woman manage to outrun the strong lean guy how come she was allowed to rummage through someone’s else’s suitcase
Oh dear oh dear it’s childlike is the author 12 years old?
I can’t find anything good to say about it I m only watching to see how much worse it can get It makes Coronation street look like a William Shakespeare play 🤣🤣🤣

👏👏👏👌
As I said on Monday: rubbish script 😩

Louella12 Wed 13-Mar-24 07:27:08

It is rather ludicrous

I'll watch it all but no doubt the ending will be totally ridiculous and I'll have lost 4 hours of my life on it!

Poppyred Wed 13-Mar-24 07:48:51

Marginally better than Big Brother? 😊

Calendargirl Wed 13-Mar-24 07:58:00

BlueBelle. Are you allowed to describe Emma as ‘chubby’? grin

My thoughts exactly, hence the tent like dresses and kaftans, plus the running /hobbling away, all the time clutching her bag.

Can see how this is going (of course).

How can she be so daft? Only met him about a week ago, but moving over to live with him and of course, just going to loan him the money to buy the house of their dreams.

🥺 It’ll end in tears.

I haven’t watched it, but after watching Tinder Swindler a while ago, I no longer wonder how anyone can possibly be so daft. Young, attractive, evidently intelligent woman, going off in a private plane, FGS - with someone she’d only just met!!! Seduced by his apparently ‘jet set’ lifestyle.

IMO she was lucky that she didn’t end up as ‘white slave’ traffic instead of just being conned out of £££££££.

Shelflife Wed 13-Mar-24 08:16:07

Very poor and unbelievable. A childlike production - daughter Susie is a dreadful actor!! I have never watched Madame Blanc , I now know why !!!;

Lilypops Wed 13-Mar-24 09:05:59

Is the daughter Susie the one in the advert ,for estate agent she is in a party in a lovely kitchen and she says. What did you pay for it” and the room goes silent ? Awful actress , ridiculous script. But I am hooked to know the ending.

I’ve given up on that as well! 😂

I don’t think Sally Lindsay has much choice in what she wears as she is a good size 18/20 I think. So she opts for loose clothes rather than fitted T shirts and navel skimming skirts.

She was in another drama series a few months ago set in Australia and she wore the same type of voluminous clothes.

Kate1949 Wed 13-Mar-24 09:54:31

It's a shame really. It could have been a good story.

henetha Wed 13-Mar-24 10:00:51

I like Sally Lindsay, but oh dear this is dreadful. I hoped last night it might improve, but no such luck.
However, stupid me is going to watch it again tonight. grin
(I need to know what happens!)

Chestnut Wed 13-Mar-24 10:15:38

Don't forget she promised her daughter she'd get the money back by Friday, without any help from the Police!

So in the real world do the Police take that attitude, that a con is not worth investigating because the money was handed over willingly, does anyone know?
