Starting tonight on Channel 5.

A four-parter, starring Sally Lindsay.

The title says it all.

I intend to watch, no doubt it will turn out a bit of disappointment, as many of these dramas do, but it’s some thing to tune in to, plus some sunshine and nice scenery, Cyprus I think.

Series 2 being written .....

In which Emma returns as the head of Cyprus CID, thanks to her outstanding detective skills. Christina is her bagman.

This is in between her shifts running the beach bar, whilst keeping an eye out for hunky Greek widowers/divorcees to sell a second hand copy of Wuthering Heights to.

🤣🤣🤣

I watched a couple of times hoping to get a few clues about scamming etc but found it too ‘samey’.

Has anyone watched Scam Interceptors on BBC?

Yes - can be very tense when they’re trying to get through to the person to warn them, before they transfer the money!

I have just watched all of this. It was preposterous but I tolerated it enough to stick with it to the end. Fair play to Emma for doing him in. What a bounder!

Always handy to have a nail gun within grabbing distance. 😂

Truly Terrible 😞 TV

Don’t worry folks, our plucky heroine will rise up from her fall down the stairs and overcome her nasty husband.

Calendargirl Thu 14-Mar-24 21:29:03

Also, Neil Morrissey was quite high up the cast list considering he was only a bit player in the big scheme of things.

silverlining48 Thu 14-Mar-24 21:28:08

We are wondering that too. Where did he get the money for the hairdressers.
I can’t believe I have watched this for nearly 4 precious hours.

I’m beginning to think I was spot on!

Good for her (the final woman)

Calendargirl Thu 14-Mar-24 13:42:11

No, but I watched the Romance Scams last night before ‘Love Rat’.

One woman lost £6600, borrowed from friends, to help her ‘boyfriend’ who she’d never met in real life, but just ‘loved so much’ and still does, even though she knows it was a scam, and he was just working as part of a scam team.

Another poor lady sent over £1000, which she is still paying the loan for, to some actor’s cancer charity. She was a fan, and of course, the real actor had never been corresponding with her.

The final woman turned the tables though. She checked out the fellow’s address and work place, found that the chap on the picture she was corresponding with didn’t exist, his picture had been stolen and used by the scammers. All she lost was the money she had paid a cab firm to check out his home address.

Yes, you do wonder how anyone can be so daft but it does happen.

It's how she goes about trying to get her money back and upbringing the gang to justice which is even dafter.

There must have been far more than her and the Danish woman who were scammed; About £200,000 average per victim isn't going to last long between them.

It is so sad to think that this has happened to people (men and women) and will go on to happen. Personally I would rather have a house full of cats!!! Not going to watch it.

At one point I thought Pete might be gaslighting her and there will be a twist at the end.

Too deep? 😂

Yes. 😁

Obviously it hasn’t improved then. I look forward to the final thoughts of posters after the last one.

Clawdy

Those previews at the end of each episode give far too much away!
Most unbelievable moment ( out of many!) for me was her going to meet someone late at night in a wood on her own!

As well as believing he was safe enough to allow him to get into her car and go to the airport.

It has more holes in it than a colander.
