Some of the participants are dreadful and it seems to me they are always trying to bargain down prices at the expense of some stall holders who look pretty poor themselves. A couple of women I was watching today actually made me cringe and even their ‘expert’ seemed appalled by them. Some are good and bargain in a reasonable way but couldn’t they cull these dreadful greed buckets- it is quite obvious what they are from the start.

I like it. Some of the experts don't seem as expert as one would expect, but still it is enjoyable. If the sellers agree to selling at below a reasonable price, that is their fault. They can always say no.

We used to run an antique stall outside at Peterborough Antique's Fair and we found the Bargain Hunt team, a real nuisance.

While they were hanging about your stall, no one else was allowed near it. They used to re-arrange your stall. I told one of the experts off pretty sharpish when he picked up an item which was standing on the grass and placed it on a stool with a pale seat uphostery. No harm was done, but they would certainly have heard from me if it had soiled the seat.

Thankfully nothing on our stall interested them, but yes, they did try and bargain things down to ridiculous prices. They would have got very little change from us. The tv people seemed to think they were God gift to us and we should be delighted that we might appear on tv. Frankly, we had no interest in appearing on television.

BH has reached a new low today, in my opinion.
The teams each have their dog with them. I accept that people bring their dogs but hate it if they don’t keep them on a short lead and you find yourself entangled in a long lead, or if two dogs start barking at each other.
But to claim that the dogs liked or “ chose” some items really takes the biscuit!

It amazes me just how much some of the dealers are prepared to reduce their prices by, which shows how over priced they were to begin with.
