The Duke-a brilliant story, so well acted.

Watched this last night. It was brilliant. It's based on a true story. Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren are great (although their Geordie accents are a bit strained). I remember seeing the headlines about the painting of the Duke of Wellington being stolen.but I never knew the background or the reason.
It doesn't seem to have been promoted by the Beeb but it is worth watching.

I watched The Duke yesterday evening (I'm working my way through my recorded programmes now that football is on) and really liked it. Quite an amazing story, and lovely acting.

The football!!! And there's so much more sport as well. Racing, Tennis. We need something decent to watch.

Really enjoyed this..thanks for the recommendation. It took me
absolutely ages to name Helen Mirren! I kept thinking “I do know her” 😂

Thank you all for your recommendations. I enjoyed Phantom of the Open very much. A pleasant, gentle film. Looking forward to The Duke on iplayer and The Mother, which I think is also on iplayer.
