Just seen a clip of him at a pride event where he wishes Kemi Badenoch would shut up and disappear. Then he says we should all be kind to everyone. Except women perhaps??

Galaxy Sun 30-Jun-24 16:24:44

Please can you stop being so rude crossstitchfan.

Smileless2012 Sun 30-Jun-24 16:26:57

I'd agree with you Galaxy but don't want to be accused of being a sheep grin.

Galaxy Sun 30-Jun-24 16:29:03

I quite like being called a sheep, makes a nice change from a far right bigot grin.

^Seems all good to me^ yes I thought it would so there's really no point in discussing it any further.

If there is a problem with a child being at Pride and wearing a dress and fairy wings, I'd like it explained

My children have been at Pride... What am I doing wrong?

Galaxy Sun 30-Jun-24 16:36:38

I couldn't care less what a child wears, pretending a child is neither male or female is something different, or social affirmation in terms of 'being a different gender' - as I mentioned latest information shows not enough evidence re harm/no harm. I dont particularly like talking about specific children so I would rather talk generally if you see what I mean.

Smileless2012 Sun 30-Jun-24 16:36:44

Well yes that's true Galaxy.

I wasn't aware your 11 year old son had been at pride, wearing rainbow wings and a frilly dress and you'd posted his photograph on social media VS.

As I posted earlier though, I didn't think you'd see anything wrong with this.

VioletSky Sun 30-Jun-24 16:39:36

David Tennants child is going to end up posted on social media regardless, unless they are supposed to lock them away at home

Again Smileless what is your problem with it

You tagged me when I wasn't talking to you so I think it is fair you answer why

No they're not.

I doubt many people knew he had children, who his wife is or were even interested in the slightest until he has turned this into a campaign using an innocent child for publicity purposes.

Child exploitation comes in different forms and this child is not of an age where he can make an informed decision about whether or not he should be used for this purpose.

Smileless2012 Sun 30-Jun-24 16:44:58

Well I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed VS.

A hate campaign shock has anyone said they hate DT? Just because a lot of people are in agreement about a particular issue Crossstitchfan doesn't mean they're like a lot of sheep.

Quite.
It just happens that on this subject many women are in full agreement.

Smileless2012 Sun 30-Jun-24 16:46:19

Great response Callistemon.

VioletSky Sun 30-Jun-24 16:48:32

And yet, they rarely post photos on social media and when they do, they cover their child's face... Every single picture

So how is it exploitation allowing your child to wear what they want to wear to an event they want to attend?

VioletSky Sun 30-Jun-24 16:49:29

Now mine was a great response btw lol

Fact check guys

Callistemon213 Sun 30-Jun-24 16:52:49

In your very humble opinion.

VioletSky Sun 30-Jun-24 17:01:09

The wings are magnificent aren't they?

Oreo Sun 30-Jun-24 17:11:46

Is that your child in the photo? I don’t think you should be posting pics of them on here if not.Still very recognisable to some in spite of the rainbow heart.

Tennant also described those who wish to claim women's spaces for women (sport, changing rooms etc) as "whinging little f***ers" I'm happy to put my hand up and be counted as a WLF. The man's an idiot and his child is just that - a child. If the child is inclined to be a different gender, then maybe the parents should try suggesting that gender stereotypes are just can be ignored. Personally I've been fighting the stereotyping since my long-ago teens. They can live as they like without the poison of puberty blockers etc.

No, it is the child of David Tennant

It's a public photo so yes I can share it

Well said Callistemon, I think I read somewhere when the great actor Anthony Hopkins was asked about his opinion on some political matter his response "don't ask me I'm an actor" and that's it. In this context DT's opinions are his own, just that and won't resonate with the majority of women and anyway who cares, he's famous for acting. Conversely Kemi Badenoch's stance on this matter is representative of many womens' attitudes and their fears.

Hmm, I don't think you understand that is exactly what the child is doing, ignoring gender stereotypes and rejecting gender pronouns... Sometimes that looks like wearing a rainbow dress and wings

Smileless2012 Sun 30-Jun-24 17:19:20

A very unpleasant man Paperbackwriter .

I think this will help long term with toxic masculinity, and the danger that poses to women...

Teach children they can all cry, they can all play sports, they can all wear whatever they want to wear, they can all play with whatever toys they want to play with...

Let them be themselves
