The Television and Radio Industries Club awards took place today.

These awards are voted for by the PEOPLE (not industry back slappers).

Nigel Farage won News Presenter of The Year for the second time.

Best News Programme went to GB News Breakfast

Alistair Stewart revealed his heartbreaking diagnosis with Camilla Tominey and won Interview of The Year.

👏👏👏👏

I do think GB News is an underrated news programme, I often put it on to hear the debates, chat and news. Many good presenters on there now, I like Eamon and Isobel and Portillo and all the guests. The political views are varied too.
Well done GBNews.🏆

Primrose53 Tue 25-Jun-24 21:12:51

Shinamae they’ll be along soon. 🤣🤣🤣. Saw poor old Eamonn Holmes was brought in a wheelchair and then transferred to a wheeled pusher up a very long ramp.

crazyH Tue 25-Jun-24 21:19:15

Poor old Eammon Holmes. I liked him and his acerbic wit.

Nigel Farage is an extremely good broadcaster, which is where his talents lie.

Not so good as a party leader as he cannot work with other people.

That's one in the eye for those who are determined to see GBNews shut down. There is a need for stations like that, which broadcast the truth instead of whitewashing everything.

Yes great news especially Nigel Farage winning presenter of the year award a second time 👍 I bet it took the smirk of Susanna Reids face 👏

Absolutely 👍🏻

Excellent news. GBnews is a very interesting and well balanced channel. They thoroughly deserve the awards.

Mamardoit Wed 26-Jun-24 09:44:03

I'm surprised the 'pearl clutchers' haven't arrived yet. Those that know everything about the channel and how awful it is. Pity they have only watched it a handful of times if ever.

I watch it in preference to any other channel in the morning.

His wonderful acerbic wit is allowed to run free on GB News 😂

karmalady Wed 26-Jun-24 09:48:18

Me too Mamardoit, it is the first channel I watch when I get up, I like that news summaries are scrolled along the bottom of the screen too.

Mamardoit Wed 26-Jun-24 09:49:20

Alistair Campbell has just been interviewed on GBNews. Strange how they all want to get on there!

petra Wed 26-Jun-24 13:41:35

If Bobby Seagull is a sometimes guest it can’t be that bad.

Rockyroad Wed 26-Jun-24 13:55:42

Excellent! Well done GB news! Watch it all the time.

mayisay Wed 26-Jun-24 14:08:02

Congratulations GB News - all three awards well deserved!
My favourites are Andrew Pierce and Bev Turner weekday mornings, and Camilla Tominey on Sunday morning.

maddyone Wed 26-Jun-24 14:26:29

I liked Andrew Pierce when he was on SkyNews and I still like him on GBNews. I liked the double act he did Kevin Maguire on SkyNews, the press round up, and sometimes he appears alongside AP on GBNews.

Marg75 Wed 26-Jun-24 15:07:42

We watch it a fair bit, I miss Patrick in the afternoons though, not too keen on Martin Daubney.

He discussed it with Rory on TRIP’s. In no way did he want to appear on it but Rory persuaded him to go on it. Having said that they’ve asked Farage to appear on TRIP’s Leading podcast but he hasn’t got the guts to do so. Because he couldn’t deal with that level of scrutiny.

Thank you Primrose53 for starting this thread.

I'm still a fan. I'm so pleased they have won again.

I'm remembering all the opposition there has been against it.
GB news has been called biased, yet it is the BBC which has constantly maintained a bias over many differing subjects.

I remember I think it was News night which hosted Adam Boulton and other representatives of the mains stream media, to discuss GbN.
No one was asked on to the show to speak against the narrative that GbN should be shut down.

Totally biased and against Ofcom rules. Did they get a fine, or condemnation in the press? Did they heck.

The rules are bent by those in thrall to the Westminster/London creep.

As was said very clearly by Andrew Boulton (Sky), "The media in this country has a very
delicate ecology , and GbN is trying to bust it"

I would substitute delicate ecology with control of the narrative.

So very well done GbN for staying afloat, and not only surviving, but showing the other stations how it should be done👏👏

Shinamae Wed 26-Jun-24 17:46:29

I am happy that Dan Wootton left because I didn’t like him at all, not over keen on Martin Daubney either.
The rest of the presenters are excellent and a cut above presenters on Sky or BBC..

He is selling a book.
So he's happy to grovel to whoever will give him air time.

I could have said he is selling his soul, but he did that years ago.
If anyone wants proof just say David Kelly in his presence and watch him combust.
Poof! and he is gone.

MayBee70 Wed 26-Jun-24 19:00:38

No. He didn’t do it to sell his book which is selling quite nicely anyway. He did it because there’s no point just talking to people who agree with you. As for David Kelly when asked about the lowest point in his political career his says David Kelly and is still very upset about it. As I mentioned before he debated on TRIP’s as to whether he should take up the GB News offer. I can only suggest that you listen to TRIP’s. By the way, how do you feel about the fact that Farage is too scared to be interviewed b Alastair and Rory?

Nicenanny3 Wed 26-Jun-24 19:05:35

I think David Kelly was murdered.
