Strictly restarts this Saturday when it will be the pairing up of celebs and pros..... which may even be less cringe-making than usual. grin

I don't know many of this year's celebs, but nothing new to that, and no doubt I shall get hooked in as usual.

I had no idea who Shirley was supposed to be, nor Craig and Anton as the twins as I'm not a fan of horror movies. I have been "educated" by posts on here and online.

I thought Sam's pink dress was dull until she whipped it off. shock

Grannynannywanny Sun 27-Oct-24 09:22:38

I watched with my teenage granddaughter and I had just said to her about Sam’s dress being a hindrance to the dance and she’d be better with a shorter style. I barely finished the sentence when off it came! 😆

Vito's choreography is always W O W !
And if he's paired with a celeb who can cope with it, they are fantastic to watch.

Here's a little treat - Vito dancing the Argentine Tango with Ellie Leach in the last series.

Nikita in suspenders and a corset … the costume of the series!!! He looked Fab-U-Lus darlinggrin

I also thought Carlos dressed as Claudia's doppleganger was great.

Sparklefizz

You missed some wonderful dancing though ....

Probably but I couldn't get past the bizarre costumes and adolescence of the judges.

I loved the whole show and I don't really like Halloween. Craig &Anton were brilliant as the sisters. The sets were amazing. The crew behind the show don't really get enough credit for what they do. I voted for Chris I admire him so much. The show is a lovely Saturday night treat.

I also thought Carlos dressed as Claudia's doppleganger was great.

Oh, I had no idea who that was! Didn’t realise what it represented.

I read earlier that Amy collapsed and was taken to hospital after last night’s show. I hope she’ll be ok.

Sparklefizz Sun 27-Oct-24 17:53:11

Yes. Poor Amy. She has Crohn's so her collapse may have been due to that.

Grannynannywanny Sun 27-Oct-24 19:32:53

Oh Shayne in the dance off. I didn’t expect that. I thought he’d be safe for another week.

Calendargirl Sun 27-Oct-24 19:42:36

Oh dear, handbags at dawn, Shirley and Craig, disagreeing in the feedback forum.

Shirley determined to show she is ‘head judge’.

Perhaps, but Craig’s is the opinion they all want to hear.

Sparklefizz Sun 27-Oct-24 19:44:39

Shayne doesn't deserve to be in the dance off.

Yes, Calendargirl, Craig's opinion is the one they all value.

Sparklefizz Sun 27-Oct-24 19:57:36

Personally I love Shayne and Nancy's routine - very dramatic, and some of my favourite music.

Craig will save them.

Calendargirl Sun 27-Oct-24 20:02:39

The only problem with Shayne’s dance was ‘a bit too much messing abaht’ at the start, in Len’s words, although it was dramatic.

Still shouldn’t have been in dance off though.

Glad he’s through.

escaped Sun 27-Oct-24 20:03:20

Right decision, though the choreography did leave Shane standing around waving his stick for too long at the start!

escaped Sun 27-Oct-24 20:03:45

😆 crossed post!

Grannynannywanny Sun 27-Oct-24 20:03:54

Sad but not surprised to see Punam go. She was never going to be a match for Shayne in the dance off. I agree with Sparklefizz. Shayne didn’t deserve to be in the dance off.

Allira Sun 27-Oct-24 20:06:25

I did think her dance was lovely but yes, Shayne deserved to get through.

We have to remember that she does everything "backwards in heels".

Sparklefizz Sun 27-Oct-24 20:07:57

The standard of dancing is high already and they are only halfway through.

Icons Week next week should be interesting.

escaped Mon 28-Oct-24 07:39:07

I hope we get an iconic singer to perform on the Sunday show. So far I'm underwhelmed.

LizzieDrip Mon 28-Oct-24 14:47:50

Sad to hear about Amy Dowden being taken ill after Saturday night’s show. She was taken to hospital as a precaution - I think she was as fine though.

According to Mumsnet she won’t be dancing next week. Probably taking a rest for the week. She’s been through so much and her health is the most important thing. Hope she’s OK.

escaped Mon 28-Oct-24 15:29:45

Oh that's a shame. Will JB be out of the show, or just be taking a week off?
He's an interesting person. Played the flute and the piano, a good rugby player too. Apparently he studied Theology at King's College, London.

Casdon Mon 28-Oct-24 15:31:52

I saw that Lauren Oakley is going to dance with JB this week, she is a good dancer and filled in for Amy last year. I hope Amy is okay and will be fit to return soon.

escaped Mon 28-Oct-24 15:33:26

Yes, I like Lauren's dancing.
