Strictly restarts this Saturday when it will be the pairing up of celebs and pros..... which may even be less cringe-making than usual. grin

I don't know many of this year's celebs, but nothing new to that, and no doubt I shall get hooked in as usual.

I'm not keen on all the lifts in Sarah's numbers now. They seem to be taking over from the dance content on two feet.

Grannynannywanny Sun 01-Dec-24 07:36:39

I really like Sarah and Vito and was looking forward to their Charleston last night. But I felt there were too many of those amazing lifts and not enough Charleston steps. I felt each time she was getting into Charleston steps she was lifted again and catapulted into the air.

Surely Pete will go tonight ! Somehow I doubt he will.

I agree. Usually I think Sarah and Vito's dances are fantastic but last night's Charleston was unrecognisable as a Charleston. The lifts were amazing but there were far too many.

The way it's going, we could see the two weakest dancers in the final.

I think Chris has been phenomenal but he's not as strong as the others. He's clearly a nice guy who has come to terms with an incredibly challenging and life changing disability and for that reason I don't think he'd want to win on the sympathy vote.

I was reading this morning that Chris has said that he doesn't want to get the sympathy vote.

Calendargirl Sun 01-Dec-24 08:51:14

Well, I think Montell will be in the dance off again, as she doesn’t seem very popular.

If Pete is in, the judges will vote him off for sure.

I felt last night they were all really kind to him, (he looked very humbled, different to the cocky bloke at the start of the series), but it seemed they were all saying, “You’ve done really well, but now….”

And I’m sure he agreed.

Charleygirl5 Sun 01-Dec-24 08:58:47

I think it will be Chris versus Montell again in the dance-off.
I think Pete should do the decent thing and offer himself.

Sara1954 Sun 01-Dec-24 09:50:20

Sarah has been my firm favourite right from the first week, but I was disappointed last night, too many amazing lifts, but not enough Charleston
I think Pete will stay, I think the public will keep him in, and I predict Montell and Chris in the dance off.
JB blew me away, so beautiful.

Calendargirl Sun 01-Dec-24 10:41:31

I wonder if Sarah might be in the dance off, judging by some of the comments on here?

I know she was nearly top of the board, but doesn’t always follow with the public vote.

It would actually resolve things a bit if one of the stronger couples are in the dance off with one of the weaker.

I like everyone who is left but I try hard not to let my personal preferences to them as people get in the way - I still look for the better dancer.

NotAGran55 Sun 01-Dec-24 11:26:42

Sometimes the best dancers can suffer because it is assumed that they are safe, and subsequently don’t get the votes from the true dance fans.
Chris and Pete obviously have huge voting fanbases for various reasons, and are still in the running as a consequence 🕺
Tonight could be very interesting!

I predict JB to win this year 🤷🏼‍♀️

Why? The voting public keep him in, some phone and pay money to do so. It would be disrespectful to them.
As I have said and I believe posters upthread have said, it is also a popularity contest and Pete has a big following.
In a true dance contest you would not get trained dancers like Tasha and Sarah, competing against Chris and Pete.

Grannynannywanny Sun 01-Dec-24 19:30:13

No surprise to see Pete through thanks to his social media followers. Shocking to see Tash in dance off. Whoever joins her has no chance.

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:38:10

It's not a dance contest.

ginny Sun 01-Dec-24 19:39:31

How ridiculous. I’m not sure I can bear to watch.

Sparklefizz Sun 01-Dec-24 19:40:23

Oh no! Poor Montell again!

Fleurpepper Sun 01-Dec-24 19:41:37

It's just awful- can't believe they are in Dance Off again.

Calendargirl Sun 01-Dec-24 19:42:05

Well, I was hoping it would be Sarah in the dance off against Tasha.

That would have made the judges earn their money.

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:43:48

Oh no! Poor Montell again!

Unfair.

Pete gets through because more people have heard of him (whoever he is!) than an Olympic athlete.

She is very graceful and a far better dancer.

Lomo123 Sun 01-Dec-24 19:49:59

Bye Montell. Shame I really liked her.

Sara1954 Sun 01-Dec-24 19:52:51

Well unless Tasha falls flat on her face, I guess we know the result

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:54:27

Neither deserve to leave.

Fleurpepper Sun 01-Dec-24 19:57:48

Travesty

harold Sun 01-Dec-24 19:58:52

I watch occasionally, It seems a bit manic when everyone in the audience are screaming; plus I find the shots of dancers practicing a little boring. But I shall probably watch the final
anyway.

Allira Sun 01-Dec-24 19:58:52

Oh dear, Montell, you made me cry.
