I’m loving this. Don’t really understand all the cyber stuff but never mind. It’s really gripping.

Pittcity Sun 15-Sept-24 22:19:26

It's a bit clichéd, but I'm enjoying it so far.
DH is an ex-railwayman and keeps pointing out things that he thinks couldn't happen.
I may binge watch.

tanith Sun 15-Sept-24 22:33:44

Confusing but good I thought, so far anyway

Allira Sun 15-Sept-24 22:52:42

I kept getting annoyed with it which in turn annoyed DH who was trying to watch it.

No-one would have left that child there to make his own way along the train to the doors at the front.

We've had hijacking on a plane recently, this looks like a copycat attempt on land.

I want my hair cut like Abby's 😀

cornergran Sun 15-Sept-24 22:55:42

We both enjoyed it. A rarity! Will continue.

Delila Sun 15-Sept-24 23:03:28

Excellent - organised chaos!

Marydoll Sun 15-Sept-24 23:30:01

We watched it tonight, I loved it, made even better, due to the fact that I know Glasgow Central well.

DH kept pointing out that the night sleeper wouldn't leave from Platform 10, that is for the Ayrshire trains!

I was a bit unsettled by it all, because tonight we were discussing booking train tickets fro our short break. I don't think I want to go now, or I will be avoiding Motherwell! !

Curlywhirly Mon 16-Sept-24 00:22:53

I really enjoyed it - a bit more plausible than recent offerings on the TV. I wouldn't be surprised if hackers could cause such mayhem if they really wanted to.

SueRosie Mon 16-Sept-24 00:37:13

Enjoyed it, but not entirely sure what's going on yet!! I think it has the makings of a good mini series.

LadyGracie Mon 16-Sept-24 08:17:31

I will persevere, I thought it was a bit Janet and John!

lixy Mon 16-Sept-24 08:20:38

We both enjoyed this last night and will watch part 2 this evening.
Very nice train I thought, rather different to my usual Thameslink experience!

BlueBelle Mon 16-Sept-24 09:21:49

Watched half but got bored with all the stuff I didn’t understand so gave up

Witzend Mon 16-Sept-24 09:24:48

I couldn’t understand precisely what was going on, except that the train was hijacked - but I dare say All Will Be Made Clear - if I persevere.

merlotgran Mon 16-Sept-24 09:30:16

I loved the build up where the driverless, hacked train slowly started to switch everything back on again. I half expected the glorious theme tune to Murder on the Orient Express to strike up as it slowly gathered speed as it left the station. 😱

flappergirl Mon 16-Sept-24 09:49:15

I found it by accident and enjoyed it but there was a lot of daft stuff in it. For example, I'm perfectly sure that the control room on the train would have an entry code and not be left open for any Tom, Dick or Harry to waltz in.

Also, despite the repeated instruction from top brass to remove passengers as quickly as humanly possible, the police and train guards didn't seem to have quite understood the memo. In fact why was it taking an interminable age to remove the wheelchair user? Knowing that the train could blow sky high at any moment, surely one of the guards or the police would have physically carried her off the train. Instead the buffet girl was aimlessly sauntering around looking for a suitable ramp. In the end, they left her on the train anyway.

When Jo (was that his name?) our anti hero finally got the end door open, why didn't he tell the boy to run immediately to his mother instead of letting him linger?

Three adults left the boy there. 🤔

That's probably because he's going to be hero of the day and save them all.

rafichagran Mon 16-Sept-24 10:27:03

I loved it, and I think it will become clear. We will also see more of the characters that are left on the train.
I am looking forward to watching it tonight.

Aldom Mon 16-Sept-24 10:40:55

LadyGracie

I will persevere, I thought it was a bit Janet and John!

Me too. It was completely unbelievable and lacked tension. An amateurish presentation. I'll watch tonight's episode in the hope of improvement.

rosie1959 Mon 16-Sept-24 12:21:50

Watched the entire series yesterday on BBC I player thoroughly enjoyed it

FannyD Mon 16-Sept-24 12:40:13

We loved it! It is very different from the crime series we usually watch. Both gripped from the outset, and I couldn’t believe an hour had passed when it ended. (And as my dh pointed out, I didn’t fall asleep once).
We too may binge watch, otherwise we run the risk of hearing/reading about it before the series ends. That has happened to us before.

rafichagran Tue 17-Sept-24 10:18:34

My eleven year old Grandson enjoyed it, he will watch the second episode tonight earlier as it was a school night yesterday. I think he likes it because of the IT and hacking side of it.

I like it because if the mix of people on the train, ordinary people who are not perfect or hero's.

Lizzie44 Tue 17-Sept-24 11:47:43

One part of my brain says this is rubbish, but another part is gripped by it. I'm not good at understanding cyber stuff so I get bored with the tech-speak. Overall it's just too chaotic and I don't feel engaged with the characters. Still, I've watched both parts and will probably continue to watch while occasionally finding myself nodding off.

pascal30 Tue 17-Sept-24 11:59:09

I can't quite work out whether it is meant to be a comedy or maybe just a black comedy. The welsh woman is so implausible.. but maybe it gets better...

TiggyW Tue 17-Sept-24 12:08:32

I’m enjoying it - it reminds me of an audiobook I’m currently listening to (Zero Days). Very technical, all based on online hackers. 👍 I imagine it’s all plausible. There again, why didn’t Joe, or any of the other adults, send the boy to his mother? He must be one of the heroes of the plot. Only up to the third episode! 😎

TiggyW Tue 17-Sept-24 12:11:45

The cyber boss seems to be a bit of a waste of space - rather like most of the police chiefs in crime dramas. The detectives do all the work! The MP is spot on!! Full of her own importance but completely clueless!!
