Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

grin

Maybe Calendargirl but can't help thinking they are on the slippery slope now .

Calendargirl Wed 05-Feb-25 10:56:11

I think that the new times for Corrie, 8.30 pm for half an hour, Monday-Friday, will be better.

Long enough for some of the storylines.

harrigran Wed 05-Feb-25 08:01:38

No, David the dog was at Nicks.

vegansrock Wed 05-Feb-25 07:45:01

Was David the dog in the house?

Calendargirl Tue 04-Feb-25 20:46:12

Thank goodness for Craigy being there to overpower dastardly Logan, armed with a knife, though David was managing ok for a while.

Has no one thought to message Gail and Jesse, loved up in the South of France, to let her know her old home is in ashes?

Sooo fed up with Abi droning on.

I would not cry over Shona I just cannot abide her.

Beechnut Tue 04-Feb-25 19:02:05

I’ve just read that too sodapop.

How did Shona escape when Max didn't?

I've just read that Corrie & Emmerdale are being cut to 30 mins each Mon - Fri.
It's being touted as The Soap Hour angry

I think that might be better. We can watch when we like anyway, so if people prefer hour-long episodes they can choose to double up, but needing a cliffhanger every 30 minutes (minus ads) will make the episodes more interesting. If they are clever with the edit they might be able to mix the cast up a bit by spacing out characters over the week, so we don't get weeks and weeks of the same four people until we're sick of the sight of them. I don't watch Emmerdale, but hope that Corrie is on in the second half of the hour, so I can finish eating before it starts.

What a badly acted, badly written episode

Calendargirl Tue 04-Feb-25 17:54:46

I think I must re-watch the last half hour as it all was a bit of a blur.

confused

Beechnut Tue 04-Feb-25 17:17:31

I only saw the last five minutes last night so I’m hoping to stay awake tonight.

Grannynannywanny Tue 04-Feb-25 17:07:32

Just noticed it’s on 8-9pm tonight

Grannynannywanny Tue 04-Feb-25 16:56:06

I’ve exhausted too much brain power pondering over last night’s episode. Having decided Nick didn’t physically lift Toyah from the floor my mind is now on Shona’s exit from the inferno. I’m in agreement with vegansrock

She was trapped inside the locked door (despite the fact that nobody ever locks their doors in Soapland even when there’s a serial killer on the loose) then she appeared in the garden on the other side of the door which was still locked 🤷‍♀️

vegansrock Tue 04-Feb-25 16:23:46

It was a bit like Carry on Corrie with all the disjointed storylines. Why didn’t Amy phone her mum or streetcars instead of phoning useless Steve multiple times? As for the CGI blaze- why on earth did Max go upstairs and how come Shona miraculously got through the door and then it was miraculously locked?

Calendargirl Tue 04-Feb-25 15:43:00

Grannynannywanny

The more I think of it I wonder if it was actually Nick who lifted Toyah from the floor. Maybe it was a stunt double. It wouldn’t be an easy manoeuvre without risking a back injury. Nick’s not exactly a strong looking muscular guy.

Can you tell I’ve got too much time on my hands today? 😆

Also wondered if a dummy was used for some of the shots.

(Toyah, I mean).

Maybe he’d already dropped her in rehearsals

“FGS, you can’t expect me to carry her, can you?” (Nick)

“Yes Nick, it will make you look the hero if you do” (producer)

“Well, ok then, but I’m warning you, she’s heavier than she looks!” (Nick)

Grannynannywanny Tue 04-Feb-25 10:14:26

I agree about Nick’s hesitation in getting Toyah outside. I was saying to the tv FGS just drag her out.

Toyah didn’t play the part of an unconscious person very convincingly. She had her arm round Nick’s back holding onto his shoulder rather than hanging limp. Maybe he’d already dropped her in rehearsals.

Aveline Tue 04-Feb-25 09:59:13

I thought that too Calendargirl

Calendargirl Tue 04-Feb-25 09:28:05

Also thought Nick was a long time bringing Toyah out. Wouldn’t he have just dragged her out immediately?

Calendargirl Tue 04-Feb-25 09:26:38

Well, Logan, Mason’s dastardly brother, was skulking about after the fire. Could it be him?

Aveline Tue 04-Feb-25 09:01:04

Oh surely not. Who will support Lauren now? She must be the unluckiest teenager in TV.

BlueBelle Mon 03-Feb-25 23:13:31

Well that’s the first couple gone Nason and Max let’s see how many of the other predictions are true
Poor max I liked him

Charleygirl5 Mon 03-Feb-25 22:33:19

If I smelled smoke in my house, I would be opening a door to investigate.

I had a struggle keeping up as so many mumbled and spoke quickly, and a lot was filmed in semi-darkness.

Aveline Please take yourself and Dev wherever you want, and I will pay for the single journey.
