Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

Cabowich

I enjoyed last night's episode as it was more about relationships between the characters rather than crime/prison/gangsters, which is getting monotonous.

Oh, Miss Do-Gooder Toyah really got on my pip last night, putting social services onto Abi. It reminded me of all those people who snitched on their neighbours during Covid.

Yes, when you think of the things Toyah has done like burying her dead baby in the park and killing her husband, she has little room to talk but people in glass houses...

Abi is becoming very tiresome.

I think both she and Carla must have had their lips done at the same place.

Am surprised Steve has missed all the calls from Amy. The way everyone needs to be attached to their phone nowadays, would have expected him to pick it up before he went to the pub, even if it didn’t get taken to the bedroom.

As for a baby for Leanne- why not throw another baby into the mix?

Yes, Carla and Abi have given in to the craze for trout pouts. Abi, Eileen and Cassie have all had veneers and tooth whitening. Nobody has teeth that white. Cassie’s are especially scarily white!

BlueBelle I feel the same about Gemma, and until she opens her mouth to speak, I am not 100% certain who she is. So much is filmed in the dark or semi-dark, and I cannot see it.

With all of the bed-hopping that goes on, does nobody give a thought to using contraception? Leanne being pregnant would be the last straw.

I also have had enough of Lauren and now Abi. Kevin does look awful.

Is Kevin really ill in real life ? He look very thin and grey he seems to have shrunk
I m afraid I cannot take Gemma’s new hair style seriously I still have to do a double take when she comes on

I would have thought those little houses would have just 2 or 3 bedrooms. Ken needs a room, Cassie will need one plus Steve and Amy one each. Surely unlikely to have 4 bedrooms.

This has been mentioned in the past, but the houses must be elastic; they are Victorian terraces which are usually three bedrooms, with the smallest bedroom, over the kitchen, having usually been converted into a bathroom. (I grew up in a similar house ) This leaves two bedrooms and the front 'parlour' which could be used as a bedroom. Quite how Chesney and his family cope is hard to imagine.

I said jokingly the other day I hope Leanne isn’t pregnant after her one night dalliance with Ryan. Now I’m seriously beginning to wonder if there will be a pregnancy on the horizon. Ryan and Steve within a couple of days.

I googled the character’s age and she’s 46 so not beyond the realms of possibility in soap land. Maybe Daisy could provide her with a discount code for the DNA clinic she used 😆

I was thinking that too Primrose53 elastic walls,

Another fairly decent episode tonight.

Thought Kevin acted very well, looked the part of how worrying it is waiting for results.

Calendargirl Wed 29-Jan-25 20:45:39

Isn’t Ronnie nice?

I thought he was awful when he first came in, but I like him now.

So much better than ‘Ed-who-can’t-act’.

Nannee49 Wed 29-Jan-25 19:58:21

Thank you Calendargirl thought I was losing it! Maybe there's a plot lurking where Max's biological nana leaves him a massive legacy and he can come to the rescue not only of Lauren and Frankiii but David too by paying off Harvey.

Calendargirl Wed 29-Jan-25 06:55:10

Nannee

Yes, you’re right, he was Max’s biological dad.

Nannee49 Tue 28-Jan-25 20:15:33

I might be wrong on this but isn't Max's biological dad the drug dealer/crim - can't remember his name but he was a nice looking lad - who fathered Sarah's Harry before ending up murdered underneath Gail's bedroom floor in the granny annexe or have I been taking too much Benelyn night linctus?

Leanne was behaving so badly in the Bistro, drinking free champagne. They must have had previous drunken customers, and have a method of evicting them. Another legal matter dealt with in the blink of an eye - the Bistro signed over to Nick. I picture the scriptwriters brainstorming ideas, writing them all down and seeing how many they can cram into each episode.

Calendargirl Tue 28-Jan-25 15:11:04

How did Nick manage to raise the money to pay Leanne her half of the Bistro?

It was all done and dusted in 24 hours.

Mind you, she will soon whizz through it as champagne now seems her drink of choice.

I don’t know why they don’t just ban her from the premises.

vegansrock Tue 28-Jan-25 14:33:04

Probably a different scriptwriter who’s forgotten previous storyline.

Charleygirl5 Tue 28-Jan-25 13:42:27

The scriptwriters do not appear to know what happened previously because that would solve the problem, and Cassie could save herself from the bother of unpacking.

vegansrock Tue 28-Jan-25 13:35:09

What happened to the camera Tracey was going to put up in the kitchen to spy on Cassie?

Grannynannywanny Tue 28-Jan-25 11:16:15

Poor Bernie is looking settled and content. I don’t suppose the scriptwriters will allow it to last for long.

The gangster nonsense with David Platt and family is beyond tedious. David has moved out to keep his family safe. How does that work? Has he texted the mystery gangsters to let them know he’s not living there?

In the meantime are Lauren and little Frankie going to move in to a house with bullet holes in the windows and walls?

Aveline Tue 28-Jan-25 11:12:57

So true Maggiemaybe 😂

Maggiemaybe Tue 28-Jan-25 10:52:17

Most of them eat out three times a day. Breakfast at Roy’s, hotpot for dinner at the Rover’s, a quick bite and bottle of wine at the Bistro later. Wages must be good in Weatherfield. smile

Calendargirl Tue 28-Jan-25 10:16:59

They must survive on ‘brews’ at home, as all they seem to consume are brews and a bite of toast.

Aveline Tue 28-Jan-25 10:07:49

Dev doesn't have to act. He's just himself!
I note that Cassie put that little bottle in a cupboard in the kitchen. Surely someone will find it when making one of the nonstop 'brews'.
