^Is Abbie back on the drugs?^

I don’t think so, but the drivel some of them have to spout, and the unlikely scenarios, it’s a wonder many of the cast aren’t.

Ha, ha.

Seriously, I think she may have PTSD.

Dev and Bernie, just the most unlikely romance. Dev is smart and comfortably off while poor old Bernie is an ex con, mad as a box of frogs and dresses like a bag lady.

Dev is such a poor actor - always has to go over the top.

Is Abbi back on the drugs?

Fed up of Dev constantly saying "Honey" !!

Grannycool52 Fri 10-Jan-25 08:27:17

Calendargirl, yes, Adam was quite the bad boy but, like so many on Corrie, managed to turn his life around.

Bluebelle, we shall await with trepidation...! I remember when the Tanners were the "rough family", then the Ogdens, the Duckworths, the Battersbys, but in the end most of us felt a sort of affection for them.

I don’t take to Bernie at all, never have, nor Gemma nor Chesney and although I think Dev is probably sweet he is such a terrible actor he makes my toes curl he just cannot act and must have the medal for the worst actor on the cobbles …wait no that really should go to wooden Yazmeen

Paper talk mentions a new family coming to the cobbles who will make Chesney & Co look like the Waltons.

Can anyone remember, when Adam first returned to the street as Mike Baldwin’s (dodgy) son, he was driving a flash red sports car which turned out to be stolen/fraudulent somehow?

Never heard the resolution of that, conveniently forgotten.

Calendargirl Fri 10-Jan-25 07:15:23

Chesney’s £20k inheritance will soon be gone.

No sooner opened the envelope than dashing off to the pub to celebrate.

Thanks Uncle Les.

As for Dev and Bernie’s engagement!

I hope we are going to be spared a ghastly Valentine Day wedding.

To be fair, given the number of ex-cons on the cobbles, there is definitely work to be had for criminal lawyers.

Grannycool52 Thu 09-Jan-25 23:25:48

It's not long since Alya, with her business degree, was working as an unqualified legal secretary.
She started studying a little law in her spare time, then off she went to Dublin for a few months and amazingly she has come back able to take on her own cases.
I seem to remember Adam cheating in his finals.
If I were a criminal in Corrie, I'd choose Deedee to represent me!

Calendargirl Thu 09-Jan-25 21:29:58

And she’s already got jobs lined up, in the library and dog walking.

Well done Evelyn.

Calendargirl Thu 09-Jan-25 21:14:09

We needn’t have been fretting over Evelyn’s accommodation.

Not only got a room in the Halls of Residence, but there’s a whole area for Mature Students.

What a relief!

She hasn’t mentioned how she is paying the fees, she must have got a student loan really quickly, plus most uni courses start in October strange she is starting in January.

Lots of courses have January intakes, but yes, the timescale for loans, accommodation and so on is bonkers, and if she is doing an accredited course she would need to have specified qualifications to get a place grin.

Still, I agree she'll probably be the fastest fast-track student ever, and will have her own chambers before Lauren's trial is over.

I don't mind Bobby, but he's a bit pointless. Has he had his own storyline yet?

Charleygirl5 Thu 09-Jan-25 18:42:15

I do not mind Craigie. He looks so different, having lost so much weight.

I cannot stand Dev and I do not like Dylan.

I like Evelyn's one-liners but if she is having a "rest" I will have a wait

BlueBelle Thu 09-Jan-25 18:30:25

Bobbys alright not my favourite character but he’s fine I prefer him to Craigy or Bethany

LovesBach Thu 09-Jan-25 18:18:22

Evelyn will sail through the law degree in a tenth of the time usually needed - after all, she applied, had an induction meeting and is off to live in halls, all arranged within the week. Just like conveyancing in Coronation Street - hey presto, and it is done. If only some of the storylines moved quickly.

Sorry, I have not liked Bobby from day 1.

Lauren's court case starts next week, I think. If I have not lost the will to live by then, that should take us beyond Easter.

Agree about Bobby.

Oh goodness, another long drawn out court case.

Now if only Evelyn had qualified…..

Mind you, she probably will have done by Easter.

Oh Sarnia that’s harsh
Poor Bobby he’s just trying to be helpful

I doubt if Carla will be going on dialysis, so I wonder who may donate her a kidney?

I think Bobby likes the idea of being Carla's saviour. Personally, I would have to think twice about accepting any second-hand parts from him.

Calendargirl Thu 09-Jan-25 12:53:13

Just a reminder, Corrie is on tonight, Thursday, at 9pm.

Aiden donated the last one.

Keep watching, all will be revealed.

Is Betsy pregnant, have I missed something?

Well, not yet, but she and Mason slept together at Sally’s, (just the once, I think) and in Corrieworld, that usually means a baby will follow.

Especially as Betsy is only 16 and a proper little madam, plus poor Mason is dead, so more complications, plus Carla’s kidney and DS Swain always looking half crazy with all that goes on in her life….
