Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

I feel very sorry for them because few are now salaried. Most are paid per appearance.

Apparently they are paid now for each appearance, which vary according to the storylines, maybe just a few a year, maybe every week! I do know that many actors would give anything to be part of the cast, though, so I don't feel sorry for them.

Sorry Charliegirl that was a tongue in cheek joke obviously didn’t work !

I got the joke. smile

I have started to watch Eastenders, at least the storylines are joined up. I still watch corrie hoping for improvement

I will look out for the curling wallpaper!

Charleygirl5 Thu 28-Nov-24 15:02:09

I have also missed that.

Sorry BlueBell I am never 100% certain whether a person is serious or joking.

Aveline Thu 28-Nov-24 17:51:48

The curling wallpaper is where it meets the shelf at the window.

They all seem to have cars as is usual these days, but I often wonder ^where do they keep them? ^

Someone will say 'I'll get my car.' As you say, where are they? Some time ago there was a storyline about parking, and the street was full of cars - as every Victorian terrace without off road parking would be - but suddenly they were gone again. If the road were full of cars, both sides, it would compromise filming, as any outdoor shots would mostly be waist up only!

Well, Carla’s hair looks fine.

No evidence of her brain surgery.

vegansrock Sat 30-Nov-24 01:47:42

She’s made a very quick recovery. The brain surgery will now be completely forgotten and never mentioned again like the various transplants, amputations etc that have happened on the street. I’m not sure why Leanne is so bitter about Nick and Toyah, since she had broken up with him .

Beechnut Sat 30-Nov-24 02:54:46

It’s so she can start stomping about again!

Calendargirl Sat 30-Nov-24 09:38:53

Have just read about another topical but grim storyline coming up for one resident.

I’ll say no more as it would be a ‘spoiler’.

But depressing.

Kate1949 Sat 30-Nov-24 10:11:45

Davina McCall has just had brain surgery. She posted on social media afterwards and her hair looked fine too.

Calendargirl Sat 30-Nov-24 11:03:07

Don’t think Davina was going home virtually the next day though Kate, and Carla’s priority seemed to be her on/off relationship with Lisa.

Not much thought given to recuperating.

Aveline Sat 30-Nov-24 11:10:24

I thought I saw a wee bandage peeping out from the back of Carla's hair when she stood at the sink last night.

One of my friends fell and hit the back of her head on the kerb. I was shocked by how aggressively they shaved her head at the hospital - just for a few stitches!

Seems a shame that Corrie sacked him before the police found there was no case to answer. I suppose, these days, any company or organisation finding out this information are between a rock and a hard place. Do they presume innocence before being found guilty or wash their hands of it all. Keep them or sack them? Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Aveline Sun 01-Dec-24 13:18:20

The allegations against Ken and also Kevin (forget actors names) were also dropped and they came back to Corrie

Calendargirl Mon 02-Dec-24 20:47:05

Did anyone else think, like me, that the scene with Nick and Leanne, in the flat, they were both trying not to laugh at the tripe that poor Leanne was forced to say, and when she leaned in and kissed Nick?

I think they were both playing it for laughs. grin

What punishment did Rowan get? Did they ever say?

Calendargirl Mon 02-Dec-24 20:59:05

What was Leanne doing with Toyah’s passport?

Beechnut Mon 02-Dec-24 22:45:18

She is up to no good with it for sure. My passport is not in some random box in someone else’s flat.

nanaK54 Mon 02-Dec-24 22:48:42

Calendargirl

What was Leanne doing with Toyah’s passport?

I think that she is opening a bank account, no idea why though

Sarnia Tue 03-Dec-24 03:25:13

There is a lot of emphasis on Chesney's dire financial situation. I never had Les Battersby down as well off but is Chesney about to be thrown a lifeline in Les's Will?

vegansrock Tue 03-Dec-24 05:31:46

For a family who are always skint how come Chesney can afford a car? And why would he have one that wouldn’t fit all the kids in?

fancythat Tue 03-Dec-24 18:36:52

As I said on another thread, I will catch up on some points, since our internet was down big time.

vegansrock on the previous thread said that Corrie has turned into a crime drama. Couldnt agree more.
Gone are the days of a storyline with Chesney and Sophie riding away on Blanche mobility scooter.

Every soap has a family that are alwasy "skint".

Some actors must need 2nd jobs I would think, they are so little used.
