I never watched this when it was aired - only ever saw bits of it on Gogglebox.

However, I finally gave in to all the hype and have watched the box set on iplayer.

Apart from Pam & Mick, I don't really find any of the other characters either particularly likeable, or particularly interesting. I don't hate it but I can think of a lot more programmes I'd rather watch.

Are there any diehard fans on here? I'm sure I must be in the minority given all the fuss about the Christmas programme.

Welcome ferry23. We’ll only worry about your obsession is you ask for a toffee or a cea like Deano!

Tony Foulds, who cares for the Mi Amigo memorial in Sheffield, is partial to a Fiddy Fiddy ( half tea/half coffee). So it is a thing!

That sounds revolting to me Pittcity, I can’t believe it’s a choice people would make!

On the Gransnet outing we should sing along to James Blunt

Rumour has it that we’ll find out what happened on that fishing trip!

It’s what’s called a ‘running joke’. The whole point is that you never find out.

I watched the second series because I saw Alison Steadman in it, then was hooked. My only dislike is actually the characters of Gavin and Stacey. She is so babyish and needy, and he just brings nothing to it. Such a pity, when the other characters are so well drawn.
May just be me, but I wasn’t wild about the last Christmas special, and don’t have high hopes for this one.

Um ....
confused so why post on the thread?

Did anyone see the Graham Norton show this week with James Cordon and Ruth Jones? They said that once the finale has been aired on Christmas Day we'll understand why there won't ever be any more.

Does this perhaps mean someone iconic dies?

I hope nobody dies but it can’t go on and on.

My family think it’s dated and can’t understand why I love it so much.

The cast are hosting the breakfast show on radio 2 this morning

“ I loves you. Will you marry me? “

Will he, or won’t he?

‘ Yes’ vote from me.

Allira Mon 23-Dec-24 18:40:39

I think he'll say No!

Casdon Mon 23-Dec-24 19:33:23

Or maybe he said yes, but it’s a long distance relationship with him still in Billericay?

Calendargirl Tue 24-Dec-24 07:18:49

I’ve never watched G&S, so can’t comment on it I know, but will be glad when the Finale has been shown, as all the hype leading up to it is a bit wearing.

Could be.

Perhaps they'll ask Neil the Baby to make the final decision 😀

Never saw the appeal, although both the girls have been commenting about the last episode, on our family WhatsApp group.

Crackin’!

Maybe you have to be Welsh to enjoy it but it’s fabulous. Have you spotted the surnames in it, Sutcliffe, West and Shipman?

I feel real Hiraeth when I watch it…so glad they got together in the end..

Sara1954 Wed 25-Dec-24 22:54:36
