Watched the first one tonight, really enjoyed it. So lovely to see all the cast back again. Looking forward to tomorrow night's!

Charleygirl5 Sun 29-Dec-24 22:39:03

It took me a while to figure out who was or had been married to whom. I will definitely watch it tomorrow evening.

Allira Sun 29-Dec-24 22:44:35

Yes, me too, Charleygirl. I need to see a family tree!

I did have a quick read about the previous series which we'd ever watched.

Worth watching for Stephen Mangan.

Loved it, although somewhat confusing. Having to choose between Steven Mangan and Toby Stephens; what a prospect!

kittylester Mon 30-Dec-24 07:38:40

You have Toby Stephens - sorted!!

tanith Mon 30-Dec-24 07:59:18

Loved it will be watching tonight. Can’t say either man appeals to me.

granfromafar Mon 30-Dec-24 08:02:19

Watched both episodes on iplayer yesterday afternoon, what a treat! No spoilers - it's fantastic! Hope there will be another full series coming soon.

Not very realistic - a British vicar able to legally conduct a marriage on a Spanish beach - a British lawyer able to understand complex divorce financial details in a Spanish divorce document ........

I could go on, but anyway, it was nicely filmed and a relaxing watch.

Oh it was a lovely load of implausible drivel, beautifully filmed, locations that looked sublime. I loved the original series. I enjoy most things with Nicola Walker in them and Stephen Mangan, he's an added plus. We only watched the first episode last night, but I look forward to the second one tonight, enjoyable sunshine filled escapism for the dark winter nights, shame it isn't longer.

Nannee49 Mon 30-Dec-24 11:16:15

I was so looking forward to it but - and it seems I'm on my own here with this viewpoint - I had to abandon it about 15 mins in.
It was just so twee & self aware it irritated the bejaysus out of me. Hannah's limited range of facial expression, verging on the gormless now, all those arch vacuous folk sloshing about in money, seemingly all they care about with the emphasis firmly on the pre-nup...not even the devine Stephen could stop me from switching over to Gosford Park.
Perhaps I'm mistaken, given all the favourable comments above, and it deserves another look.

watched it yesterday, love this series, also agree enjoy most things with nicola walker in

pascal30 Mon 30-Dec-24 11:19:08

Lovely bit of complete escapism.. it reminded me of Mama Mia..

sodapop Mon 30-Dec-24 13:09:54

Exactly Pascal30 lovely light entertainment I enjoyed it, did take me a while to recall all the family issues.

Patsy70 Mon 30-Dec-24 13:45:35

Really enjoyed it, plus the beautiful setting. Looking forward to watching tonight’s episode.

Gin Mon 30-Dec-24 13:52:28

I was really looking forward to seeing this as I always enjoyed previous series but was so disappointed. It was too sweet and lacking plot and it took me half an hour to work out who everyone was. I found myself shouting at Nicola Walker to for heaven’s sake stop smiling, However, I shall watch tonight’s episode.

Patsy70 Mon 30-Dec-24 13:58:42

Yes, I agree, Nicola Walker can be irritating with all the false smiles and lots of “ums” and unnecessary pauses. It didn’t spoil it for me, though.

Kate1949 Mon 30-Dec-24 14:02:17

I've gone off Stephen Mangan since I saw him being embarrassingly sy

Kate1949 Mon 30-Dec-24 14:03:40

Sorry. Embarrassingly sycophantic at a Kylie concert. I will watch the series though.
