NOW TV Matlock

Although I have access to some pay-for TV, I generally watch BBC (all channels), Channel 4 and ITV.

However, having read in my newspaper some recommendations for various TV programmes, I decided to try out a series called Matlock which is on NOW and, I believe, Sky.

I have been enjoying watching this series, starring Kathy Bates. (It reminds me a little of The Good Wife, which also covered legal/social/political issues.) Each episode covers a particular legal case but there is an underlying and pivotal story regarding Kathy Bates' character.

Yesterday, I got to episode 8, then nothing - no further series available. This is so annoying because the underlying story has not been resolved and there is no indication as to when, or even whether, further series will be available. It is really annoying. Has any other gransnetter experienced this issue?

I think I will stick with the mainstream channels.

It seems that Matlock airs first in the USA on CBS and there was a Christmas break.

It looks like CBS are due to show episodes 9 and 10 on 31 January 2025 and 6 February 2025.

Presumably it will then be released to other streaming services.

I found the same some years ago while following The Royal (on t.v) one of the main characters was left on the operating table after a stabbing and the series just stopped!
I think programme makers should be encouraged to at least tie most of the "ends" together BEFORE a programme ends.
