Just had email from Talking Pictures TV( TPTV on Freeview)
From Saturday 22nd Feb at 8pm, they are showing the whole series again.
They did a few years ago.
I will rewatch as one of my favorite dramas of the 70s (even tho i was still at school)

I never saw Family At War because my mother disliked it and refused to have it on. I don't know what she didn't like, possibly it was because she spent most of the war in the ATS and didn't see much wartime family life.

Loved this so much bought the DVD set and recently finished watching it again. Really liked seeing the old furniture just like we had in my childhood, the standard lamp with a fringed shade, the serving hatch, and the way they always closed the door when entering or leaving a room. Wonderful.

I thought the power cuts of the 3 day week were in 1973 ?
Someone upthread said this series was broadcast 1970 to 1972.
Unless it was repeated ?
The very next year? Seems unlikely.
Perhaps you had local power cuts.

There were national power cuts were Jan 1972

The 1972 miners' strike lasted from 9 Jan - 28 Feb
