A new rebooted Bergerac is due to be shown on U. I have been watching the old ones! My goodness they were so good! Even now, years later. Just had a peek at the new version. It doesn't look anywhere near as good IMO but will certainly give it a go. You can not beat John Nettles!!!!! Remember Phillipa Vale? Brilliant pairing. I find it hard to watch Mary in Emmerdale. Reminds me of all the years that have passed. she played Susan.

We watched the new Bergerac - all I can say is it was an ok watch. Prefer the original. In my view the actor playing Bergerac looked too young. The actor playing the daughter “looked” too old for her schoolgirl part.

I thought I would give this new version a go, I normally avoid remakes. It was "ok", he mumbled a lot and I wondered if and when he was going to change his clothes, he looked unwashed and scruffy. Agree with Oldbat1, the daughter looked too old for her part but I think it may improve so I'll watch Episode 2. I still think John Nettles nailed the part.

When I said he looked ‘too old’, I suppose I meant too fuddy duddy and set in his ways.

I realise there are many dads of that age, which is why at the school gates you can’t always tell if they are dads or granddads.

Finnish the series now. Overall thought it was good, didn't see that ending coming.
Look forward to seeing the next one.
