Oh good! That’s my evening sorted.

I’m still watching ‘Out There’, but even if I wasn’t, this doesn’t appeal, judging from the trailers.

Have gone off Keeley Hawes as well,

Sad to say I fell asleep, but have it recorded and will try again.

I half watched it because there was nothing else on but felt I should have given it much more attention. It may grow on me. I wasn't keen because it is based on a novel.

I came across a few reviews, and decided to do something else.

I didn’t see it, but I have read the book, of the same name, and it was well written and enjoyable.

It was disappointing.
Trying to work out who was who in all the various characters was tiresome. It seemed the drama was trying to make a story out of basically nothing.
Maybe it will improve, I'll persevere.

I read the book about three years ago and it was even harder to work out who was who. I had to keep flipping back.

I think the TV version will be easier to follow and I enjoyed last night’s opening episode.

Oh I am glad it wasn’t just me who was confused who all the characters were and how they linked to each other. The flashing to and from the two ages didn’t help.
Overall I found the story boring.

I recorded it, it looked interesting from the trailer.

Having to read Northanger Abbey for mock ‘O’ level put me off Jane Austen for many years but there’s nothing like a good old Regency costume drama to get things back on track and there have been plenty of those to enjoy over the years.

I fluffed a whole A Level paper on Persuasion. The question was to write about the landed gentry. I dived in so fast that I only saw the word land, and I wrote about the farmers and secondary characters! Oops! Still managed a good grade somehow.

I enjoyed it. There were quite a lot of characters and time shifts but I am looking forward to the next 3 episodes.

Beautiful settings and costumes, with an excellent cast, but a very dull script. All episodes are up on the IPlayer, so I will probably zip through the rest tonight. Can’t see many men sitting through this, though!

I gave it a go but lost interest quite quickly. Not sure who everybody was and the doctor was a bit strange.

The costumes were good though and the lovely house where they filmed it.

I’d drunk a bit too much wine when I started watching it so kept dozing off. Like others on here I got confused as to who was who.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and will look forward to each episode as a bright spot in the next three Sunday evenings.

I am sorry to say it was even more dreadful
than having to study Pride and sodding Prejudice for A Level English Lit. I adored Milton, Spencer, Shakespeare but Austin Urgh ! I lasted barely ten minutes of that Sunday boredom

So many dramas these days keep on jumping back and forth to different times. It makes it very difficult to get into the series. I think this could be really good it they only made things clearer from the start.

I am glad I am not alone in getting confused about who was who. I might have dosed off and missed!

From all these comments, I think they should have supplied us with a sheet for reference at the beginning. A bit like a family tree!

I found it quite boring to be honest ( I fell asleep part way through). My ex, having just retired, decided to read all the classics but said he gave up on Jane Austen (he loved Wuthering Heights and even walked to the actual place). He said he didn’t like the way Austen wrote about poor people. I’ve never read any of her books so don’t know if he was right or not. I think I prefer Georgette Heyer regency romances! I will watch this new series though.

Like Clawdy I couldn't keep up with the relationships and names. Not as interesting as I thought it would be. I will give it another go. I enjoy the houses and costumes.
