Bridget Jones - Mad About the Boy

I really enjoyed it ....I mean you know what you're getting .....loved seeing hugh grant again .....and the dying scene where her dad ( jum braodbent) told her to live not just survive....that had me tearing up

I don’t fancy it.

I’m thinking to see it. I’m involved in brainy stuff quite a lot so relaxing for me means watching absolute rubbish.

I never read the books and only saw the first film because a friend wanted to see it on her birthday.

I found the main character irritating then so it sounds as if she hasn't changed much!

I felt bad telling people I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than go and see this one so thank you for helping me feel better about this!

I enjoyed it. My daughter and I went together, we laughed and yes, did also pass need tissues!

It was worth it just to see Hugh Grant in support hose!

I only saw the first. Wasn't very impressed and was disappointed she didn't choose Hugh. Yes I know he was a cad and bounder but much more fun than D'Arcy

I saw it last week with DD and DGD. We enjoyed it but then we hadn’t set our expectations very high.

Interestingly, DD saw it in Paris a few weeks ago (with subtitles) She thought the French audience found it much funnier than us Brits. They laughed out loud whereas we chuckled. 😂

I’ve been to see it tonight, and enjoyed it. It was a fitting ending to the series, much better if you already knew everybody and recognised their quirks from the previous films, because you then got the references, and laughed along with them. The scene where she was buying condoms was really funny, that had us laughing out loud.

If I remember correctly, the earlier Bridget Jones was hilarious. I was disappointed with Mad About the Boy, to be honest. I didn't think it was especially funny or clever or... anything.

I didn't think much of this either. She is pass her sell by date to be playing this kind of character. The daughter was obnoxious especially the part where she is banging a saucepan for no apparent reason. She would have had short thrift from me!!!

It was ok, I found the bit when she had her lips plumped up and could barely speak quite funny, but BJ has had her day. I did really like the previous ones and enjoyed the books when they were new and fresh, the premise is a bit tired now.

My daughter and I absolutely loved it.Thought it was so funny and loved Bridgette being so good and making us laugh.

I'm not a fan of Bridget Jones films and I don't think they have stood the test of time at all. This one wasn't my choice, but it was mildly amusing and mildly moving. I wouldn't be in a rush to see it again though

She irritates me, I saw first one but it was not for me.

I went to support my cinema pal, didn’t expect to enjoy it and I did.

I wondered how they managed to get from London to the Lake District in half an hour.

Now glasshalffullagain, don’t be bringing realism into this. I confess even I struggled with that bit, as would anyone who ever drove up the M6 from south to north. It’s ok once your past Lancaster

I tried to be brave and smiley for my friend, honest I did!

I watch these films with our daughters and old enough GDs, in daughter2's home. Silly but everyone is happy. Not seen Bridget4 yet.
