What series are you currently watching, or what are some of your favorites? I recently watched What If on Netflix, as well as Anatomy of a Scandal. I enjoyed both, but I love the evil character that Renee Zellweger plays on what if. I heard a second season may be in the works.

I love Severance on Apple TV at the moment. We‘re in season 2 and things are getting stranger.

I’ve been thinking about starting that one. Maybe I will!

I love a series tat has a powerful female character, or women in general who dress really nice. I look forward to seeing the outfits…lol!

I love a program on BBC IPlayer.
Its about a private detective agency that's located in the mean streets of Stratford-upon-Avon
It's a brilliant watch, funny & witty, with lots of clever Shakespearean references too.
The series is listed as 'Shakespeare & Hathaway. Give it a whirl, you won't be disappointed. 🙃

Talking of Shakespeare I loved Upstart Crow.
Am enjoying this third series of The White Lotus and loved Stranger Things and Dark, both on Netflix.

We just bought Foyles War on EBay, a programme we both thoroughly enjoy, we’ve never seen all of the series and they’re not all on TV unless you want to pay for Acorn TV to get those missing from ITVx. We will sell them on once we’ve finished.

I loved Upstart Crow, too. Apart from Call the Midwife, which finishes tonight, I don’t think I’m following any series at the moment.

McDonald and Dodds is good, easy viewing too with Jason Watkins and Tala Gouveia

Allira Sun 02-Mar-25 20:14:42

Oh, I thought this was the thread started by someone who wanted non-demanding easy viewing!.

McDonald and Dodds and The Chelsea Detective are fabulous.

We've just watched both series of The Cafe on iPlayer. Touching, funny and gentle.

I’m binge watching an American series, This Is Us on C4. Ran from 2016-22. I’d never heard of it before, it’s excellent in parts, and what I’m enjoying most about it is all the (mostly) unknown (to me) faces that are in it.

WhiteSwan63 Sun 02-Mar-25 21:41:20

We have discovered Shameless from years ago on Netflix. We are really enjoying it and it’s laugh out loud moments. It passed us by at the time. We will watch the USA version after this.

VelvetVinyl Sun 02-Mar-25 21:52:06

I’m not familiar with most of these things posted. Is tv thst different from in the US?

VelvetVinyl Sun 02-Mar-25 21:52:36

I know This is Us, and Shameless though : )

Watching rerun of The West Wing on C4...brilliant writing and a fabulous cast. That's me sorted for several weeks!

Well given that we have totally different channels-BBC/ITV/C4 etc it would be wouldn’t it?
Satellite -Netflix /Sky /Apple etc available on both sides of the pond but imagine most people are talking about terrestrial/freeview channels.

Allira Sun 02-Mar-25 23:50:23

It's very different indeed.
The British sense of humour is often misunderstood by people in other countries, for instance.
