Who else watched this?

Found it a bit confusing at first, but sussed it by the end.

Not sure about Siobhan’s blonde hair, looked rather brassy.

Surely the little girl wouldn’t have been allowed to stay at her home, especially as she, Siobhan, dashed off in the night. Who was keeping an eye on her then? The old dad who had a stroke?

Why do they all have to be having illicit affairs with colleagues?

BlueBelle Mon 17-Mar-25 07:19:32

I watched, missed some, so watched afterwards on iPlayer
Could be ok but lots of ‘ wouldn’t happen’ in it especially around the little girl
Affair didn’t seem very believable presume there ll be a reason all will come to light
On again to night note to self stay awake

We watched it. Looks promising though the points in the OP occurred to me too. I do like Siobhan Finneran.

Watched two parts last night, on catch up, nothing else on. I agree with what was said. The other thing is the criminals child, reminded me of Damon in the Omen with that creepy sly smirk.

Allsorts Mon 17-Mar-25 07:44:49

I watched it but feel I have seen this before. Bits were unbelievable to me. You can see the top baddies could they be more obvious, treating aDI with no respect and barking out threats, the phone will come to light soon. I will stick with it for now,

So much was filmed in the dark I had problems watching. I did wonder how she could run out of the house leaving father and child alone.

I agree, the hair looked very brassy.

The jury is out but I will watch tonight's episode.

Clawdy Mon 17-Mar-25 17:13:24

Yes, will watch tonight and decide. Perhaps Siobhan's wig is to make her look younger! Didn't realise she's 60. And her lover is 44.

rafichagran Mon 17-Mar-25 17:19:20

I watched 1st part last night and will watch the second part tonight. Taking the child home with her would not happen.
I enjoyed the 1st episode.

As the child is not supposed to have a phone as her location could be tracked, how come she managed to have the larger tablet?

No, that is not what would be called a safe house and Siobhan's car is quite distinctive too.

She was chatting to a friend online, who we are led to believe is the criminal's son.

Thanks Allira

Thanks Allira

Well, I think that's right but please don't use that in evidence at some later date in court 😁

The tablet is Siobhan's daughters, Amy, the twelve year old, is staying in her room.

I enjoyed it, but it had alot if dramatic licence.

mabon1 Tue 18-Mar-25 13:46:37

Illicit affairs happen in every work place believe me. The Protection series is full of "artistic licence" just as all other series.

missdeke Tue 18-Mar-25 13:52:25

I've been watching it and I feel the affair is a defining part of the plot if I have got it sussed right. I wasn't sure about the whole thing at the start but have persevered and can't wait to see if I am right.

Every time I see Siobhan in any program ....... I can still remember her in Rita, Sue and Bob too grin

She always comes across the same in whatever role she plays.

Can’t really explain it, she seems to stare and hesitate before saying something, with a ‘blank’ look about her.

She did it in Downton, Happy Valley, and still doing it in this.

Makes her look a bit ‘vacant’ somehow.

Or perhaps it’s me!

Maggieanne Tue 18-Mar-25 15:17:15

We started to watch it but found it a bit boring, but why are people obsessing about her hair!

4allweknow Tue 18-Mar-25 16:13:58

Think I'm watching it for the actors ability as the scenario is totally unbelievable.

Calendargirl Tue 18-Mar-25 16:26:19

No one’s ‘obsessing’ about her hair Maggie, we just commented on it!

wibblywobblywobblebottom Tue 18-Mar-25 16:56:08

Oh it's a TV programme. Nope.

OldFrill Tue 18-Mar-25 17:00:12

She needs to try that magic purple shampoo, turns brass to mouse.

Nothing wrong with a 60 year old woman having a 44 year old lover and it showing!
