Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

NanaK they took a Hallucinogenic and were temporarily in a ‘strange world’ Lauren accidently took Adi s when he temporarily went off You can see where its leading but I m saying no more
I think it covers very well how much earlier women mature than men Asha and Aadi are twins but miles apart in ‘common sense’ they both act the parts well

What a load of rubbish. Yes, Brodie had spiked their drinks and they were tripping on LSD or similar.

I know Corrie needs (or wants) to attract younger viewers, but honestly - that episode was ridiculous. How old is Nina? At least 30 I would have thought, and the others are in their 20s. Dylan, Lauren and Betsy are under 18 (as is the pantomime villain Brodie) but what sort of house party mixes those age groups?

Soaps aimed at ‘youth’ don’t work. Hollyoaks had its day but young people don’t commit to regular programming. They should concentrate on keeping the audience they have, and look at bringing in young parents who don’t go out much and will watch a couple of times a week.

My load of rubbish comment was referring to the episode, incidentally- not anyone’s posts. 😀

Clawdy Tue 24-Jun-25 07:54:16

Brodie didn't spike the drinks, they knew they were taking the drugs, and thought it would be fun! Looks like something dreadful happened, guess we'll find out on Wednesday!

Doodledog Tue 24-Jun-25 08:59:30

Didn't he have a vial of something when he was talking to Dylan? I only half watch these days, so I could be wrong, but I thought he was responsible. Having said that, he was with Kit and Bernie later, so maybe not.

Bernie's character is so much less annoying when Gemma's not around. I'm not usually a fan of story-driven changes of character, but Bernie always seemed a caricature, and learning about her past makes her seem more rounded.

What has happened to Abi’s face? Its so stretched and shiny and her lips have been “done”, plus huge veneers. She is always made up to the nines these days is to attract Carl?

Doodledog Tue 24-Jun-25 10:39:14

I assume so.

The actress must have had a lot of work done, but surely it's out of character for a mechanic in a backstreet garage with a much older husband to have her nails done and make-up on permanently? If I remember rightly, Lynne Perrie was sacked for getting her lips done as it wasn't in keeping with Ivy Tilsley's character.

Side on, her lips resemble a duck's beak. I suppose it is this generations 'thing' and a phase they are going through but who on earth thinks it is a good look?

Doodledog Tue 24-Jun-25 11:09:17

I'm not keen at all on the thick eyebrows, Turkey teeth, pumped up lips and fake breasts look, but I'm entirely the wrong demographic for it.

I saw on the news last night that there is an investigation into maternity care ongoing, and that one of the areas they will look at is why so many black women die in childbirth (three times as many as white women). It definitely chimed with DeeDee's story. I'm pleased it is being covered and presumably the results of the enquiry will be integrated into the story to raise awareness.

Ooh, I've (almost) read a spoiler about who the father of Brodie is. I didn't go on to read the full article because I don't want to know myself yet, but apparently it's a "big shock".

Well, serves me right for sneaking a quick look at a Corrie Spoilers web page. Of course Kit's the Daddy!

Whoever plays Addie - his acting was dreadful last night - totally ham.

Doodledog Tue 24-Jun-25 13:13:33

Please don't spoil it for the rest of us?

Devorgilla Tue 24-Jun-25 15:28:13

First time I have agreed with Lou. She, and Kit, should have been the ones to tell him. Bernie should not have interfered.

BlueBelle Tue 24-Jun-25 16:40:26

I think Aadi was great last night I was somewhat muddled with Summer and Nina just being giggly and Lauren having a major psychotic episode although I thought it was rather well done with Joel appearing n her thoughts No Brodie didn’t spike them Doodledog Aadi put it in the drinks to liven them all up they all knew it was in their drink except Lauren who picked up Aadi s drink when he was out the room

I wasn't spoiling it for anybody. Kit was revealed as the dad on Monday night.

And I'd only glanced at the spoiler which appeared over a week ago and said that neither Kit nor Mick was the dad. They got that wrong!

I saw that too but didn't read further. Whoever plays Lou is a very good actress. She brings her awful character to life. Shame the same can't be said for the woodentops in Corrie. Theo, Jack and Millie, to name just 3.

Grannynannywanny Wed 25-Jun-25 10:50:37

I’m fed up with mean and moody Kit. He has handled the Brodie situation badly while aided and abetted by Bernie who shouldn’t have interfered. I’ve warmed to Bernie’s character in the past year but she’s overstepped the mark on this one.

When Betsy was entrusted with the factory keys to set the alarm did anyone else think what could possibly go wrong? 🙄

Crossstitchfan Wed 25-Jun-25 11:13:14

Yes,I did! But then, I can’t stand Betsy so always think the worst of her anyway. Can’t get excited about the actress either. She has the personality of a dead hedgehog! And that shrill
d-r-a-w-l-y voice. Ye gods. What is Corrie coming to?

It was rubbish. I totally agree. The script writers should be sacked

Dottydots - Like you I have watched Corrie for so long that I can't imagine giving it up but it saddens me how poor and unrealistic it has become. Any good characters like Paul, Julie and Debbie are culled and we are left with dross like Gemma. George, Brian, Bernie, Sally and Tim, Aadi all need more airtime. I love Todd and want him to get together with James. I actually liked the drag night episode, it was entertaining and nice to see the Rovers full. Looks like we are heading for a Daniel and Dee Dee relationship. For a patronising, sanctimonious man he can't half pull the pretty woman.

I agree with you

BlueBelle Wed 25-Jun-25 15:20:04

But Brodie didn’t spike their drinks unless I saw a different programme Aadi used the stuff to get them all relaxed and jolly

LauraNorderr Wed 25-Jun-25 15:29:22

I think Lauren was badly affected by the drug because she’d been drinking vodka with Betsy beforehand.
Summer and Nina knew they were taking a drug. Daft girls.

Calendargirl Wed 25-Jun-25 21:48:45

Why on earth would Carla trust ditsy Betsy to lock up the factory, just so she could skive off with Lisa, can’t remember why though.

Very poor judgement.

Betsy can’t be trusted to tie her own shoelaces.

Lovetopaint037 Thu 26-Jun-25 12:40:55

Watched last night but it was very dark. As it went on the darkness continued. The adverts were okay but I was wondering if it was another cut back. Is it our tv? Hope not.

Clawdy Thu 26-Jun-25 12:44:27

Carla stroking Lisa's ponytail was so irritating!

Lovetopaint037 Thu 26-Jun-25 17:24:43

Agree with Clawdy.that got on my nerves as well.’
Thats right Brodie brought the drugs in but it was the other youngsters who mucked about with the drinks. I’m beginning to warm to Brodie. He has a nice face and has potential to be a decent boy.
