Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

Oh no Craigie sad

Sarnia Mon 19-May-25 22:50:01

Violence for violence's sake. This isn't Coronation Street. I'm giving it a miss for now. One of the most depressing programmes on TV.

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 19-May-25 13:52:21

Yes, my own children were so much more work than those of Coronation Street..

Charleygirl5 Mon 19-May-25 10:47:26

All of the schoolchildren appear to go to school on their own, are rarely collected, and seem to sort themselves out in the evening when their parents are drinking.

Calendargirl Mon 19-May-25 10:39:01

P.S.

Talk of 19-22 million viewers for certain episodes.

Mind boggling.

Calendargirl Mon 19-May-25 10:37:54

Veering off topic, but has anyone watched ‘Coronation Street Compilations?’

Not ‘Classic Corrie’, these are half hour episodes of notable past dramas i.e. Weddings, Scandals, Villains and so on.
Available on ITVX.

Narrated humorously by Jason Manford, a lovely snapshot of older and probably forgotten highlights, some going back many years.

And reminding us just how good Corrie was, back in the day.

[sigh]

Doodledog Sat 17-May-25 20:55:56

Ah, that explains it😂

Calendargirl Sat 17-May-25 20:48:05

That was in real life, Doodledog, not on Corrie.

Doodledog Sat 17-May-25 20:07:16

Did she?

I know I pay very little attention, but I have 'watched' it for decades and don't remember that.

lemsip Sat 17-May-25 19:53:43

yes Tina O'brien 'sarah' married Ryan Thomas and they have a daughter now 16 called scarlett

Doodledog Sat 17-May-25 17:31:53

No, Bethany is the daughter of a boy at school when Sarah was 12 or so. B was born when S was 13. She didn’t really know what she was doing.

Grannynannywanny Sat 17-May-25 16:35:34

If I’ve remembered correctly Sarah had an off screen romance for several years with Ryan Thomas and they had a daughter together .

Bukkie Sat 17-May-25 14:37:03

I meant Jason. I got mixed up with the actor Ryan Thomas who plays him. Not sure if Sarah has ever had Ryan in her sightssmile

Aveline Sat 17-May-25 13:50:46

Blimey. Looking at that list Sarah has certainly been busy. At least her mum married all her many boyfriends!

Calendargirl Sat 17-May-25 12:05:38

Wasn’t she meant to be marrying Todd’s brother Jason at one point, but he climbed out of a bathroom window to get out of it?

Or was that Todd?

🤷‍♀️

Bukkie Sat 17-May-25 09:56:56

I thought it was a good episode and it explained a lot of why Mick and Lou behave the way they do. Not sure how Kit's future will pan out now.
Is there any man on the street under 40 Sarah hasn't slept with? I counted Adam, Gary, Kit's, Todd, Ryan, Callum, Bethany baby dad? Damon off the top of my head last night.

Calendargirl Sat 17-May-25 08:19:57

Think the scriptwriters thought the ‘nappy ‘ issue would be a good way to bring in gobby Lou, but then completely forgot she was supposed to have a baby/toddler, as ‘Joanie’ and sibling are obviously older, as they have (unseen) played with the quads.

🤷‍♀️

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 17-May-25 07:50:21

And where do Lou and Mick keep their other children- the nappy wearer and "Joanie"?
Brody, Mummy and Daddy were out celebrating his release with no mention of his siblings..

Grannynannywanny Sat 17-May-25 07:37:07

I enjoyed last night’s episode. It was well done. We always suspected there would be more to Kit than meets the eye but that was quite a back story. Now it looks like he might be the father of the young thug who’s just been released from detention .

Kit appears to be softening a little to Bernie. I hope she keeps her promise to take his secret to the grave. But I suspect she’ll let it slip.

BlueBelle Sat 17-May-25 07:30:27

I really don’t think they picked the right young boys for Mick and Kit but perhaps I m being picky I guess it explains it all but I didn’t really enjoy this episode

Calendargirl Sat 17-May-25 07:12:11

I didn’t notice, but apparently Kit’s eye colour has changed from brown to blue in the intervening years.

Think they should have cast another actress as younger Bernie.

Think young Mick was much more attractive than young Kit.

Aveline Sat 17-May-25 07:07:59

It was. Explains a lot. Wonder what will happen now.

Calendargirl Fri 16-May-25 20:59:58

Good episode tonight.

sodapop Thu 15-May-25 15:38:29

I agree nanaK54 Debbie was brilliant and Carl is definitely looking after number one

nanaK54 Thu 15-May-25 14:11:11

BlueBelle

Although I don’t believe or agree with the writing of the storyline I think Debbie played a blinder tonight What was it ? she was heading out for a Twiddly TooToo’ I thought she played someone who’d had too much to drink so well

Agree - the Debbie actress is such a good drunk!
I still wish that she would confide in Ronnie, I am worried that awful Carl is going to fleece her. sad
