Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

I cannot stand the sight of Mary and never will.

There are so many misery guts there at present that it would be good to see some laughter, like in days long gone.

Same here. A one-dimensional actress. The little gasps before she speaks drives me mad and she interferes in everything. She can clear off and take her mother's sayings with her.

Oh no! I’ll never watch her now without being annoyed by the gasps, which I had never noticed before. Can’t unhear that comment now!!

Ah! Kit. He is growing on me. His acting seems to be improving or perhaps there has been a settling in process after the dramatic arrival on the Street. As I am missing Daniel in Doctors, Kit is interesting.
Sean has been given some acting challenges and done very well.
The financial tangle involving the pub, Jenny Daisy, and Carla is irritating me.
I watch/listen while folding clothes or empty/filling the dishwasher.

Charleygirl5 I agree with you about Mary. She hits a raw nerve with me, always did with her little girl voice.

For someone who works in construction, Theo always seems to wear pristine white t shirts. Surely scaffolders move on quite quickly don’t they?

Same with the garage, all the mechanics in their spotless overalls. My DS was a car mechanic for a while so I know what I am talking about.
Why does Tyrone wear the upper part of his boiler suit tied round his waist?.Makes no sense at all, he may as well not wear one.Abbie with her manicured nails!

I wish both Betsy and Lauren had driven off in Tracy’s van, out of Weatherfield forever.

Betsy is an absolute pain, with her silly sling and trying to buy booze in the corner shop. Glad Aadi was firm and refused to sell to her.

Silly little madam.

Aveline Sat 26-Apr-25 07:21:14

Her poor mother!

BlueBelle Sat 26-Apr-25 08:07:37

I m losing interest in Corrie I don’t look forward to it like I used to

Agreed.
It seems to have 'lost it's way' of late but still I keep on watching!

Poor baby Layla - I can't bear the way she is being passed around that family, all daft too because I'm sure that we all think she will be reunited with DeeDee.

Enough already with all the 'crime' and youth offenders.

Not enjoying the Jenny and Daisy storyline, have actually found it quite difficult to follow and have no idea what's going on half the time!

Doodledog Sat 26-Apr-25 13:09:49

Wouldn’t social services be involved if a mother said she was giving her baby to her brother? People might do that informally but not from a hospital bed - and won’t DeeDee still be seeing a midwife or HV? I seem to remember that lasted for six weeks or so.

You would hope, but this is 'Corrieland' so who knows grin

Now the poor little thing has been in hospital perhaps something will happen.

Who has 'Parental Responsibility'?

There seems to be more sex going on in Corrie at the moment, than I've had in a lifetime!

Kit is rather gorgeous when he smiles at Sarah. I melt a bit when I see that beautiful even-teeth and blue eyed smile! I never really noticed his smile until his affair with Sarah, as he was always so serious and officious. Sarah is a bit of a strumpet though - she’s had more lovers than hot dinners. I always marvel at the clothes the women wear in Corrie, particularly Sarah, Daisy and Maria - they never seem to wear the same thing twice!

Calendargirl Sat 26-Apr-25 15:35:31

What does Lauren do for money?

Never does a stroke of work, she’s either mooching round the hospital, sniffling over poor little Frankie, or she’s in Roy’s Rolls.

Where does she live?

Surely St Roy isn’t housing her?

Absolutely! I have been hoping Betsy would leave for ages, but she keeps coming back. Her voice and the stupid way she speaks drive me mad. It might be better if she could act, but she hasn’t got a clue. How on earth did she get this job? What were the directors thinking?
I think it might soon be ‘goodbye’ from me for good. At the moment, I just record it and fast forward most of it. Not ideal and it makes a mockery of the years I have watched it (from the very first episode). Loyalty stops me giving up on it for now, but much more of the crap, and I’m gone!

Aveline Sat 26-Apr-25 16:35:03

I think the actress who plays Betsy plays her perfectly. Just exactly a stroppy irritating teenager. Seems like it's the character you don't like crossstitchfan not the acting?

Charleygirl5 Sat 26-Apr-25 17:47:20

In real life, the person who plays the irritating Betsy is 24 years old. She does not look her age.

Those out of work appear to have more money than I do, and I also have my state and work pension.

Kit, to me, is transformed when he relaxes and smiles.

Haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere else on GN, but as an original viewer of CS, was sorry to see that Philip Lowrie (Dennis Tanner) has died.

Back in the days when Corrie was Corrie.

RIP.

Doodledog Mon 28-Apr-25 18:18:35

Did he come back a while ago and marry Rita?

Aveline Mon 28-Apr-25 19:43:56

I was sad to hear that Dennis was gone. He was always a cheeky breath of fresh air.

Yes.

She’s still Rita Tanner, I think.

Poor Debbie. What a great actress Sue Devany is. Such a shame they are getting rid of a great actress and character yet keeping deadwood like Gemma and Betsy. Debbie and Ronnie would have been perfect as the the new owners of The Rovers.
Did I imagine it or did Debbie have her hair cut and coloured in the Bistro scence yet it was longer with dark roots outside when Carl was hugging her?

Clawdy Tue 29-Apr-25 08:11:11

Yes, her hair seemed to change!
Hate the storyline about not telling family. So Debbie would rather hurt Ronnie by telling him she doesn't love him, than tell him the truth. She could still insist they don't live together, he would probably accept that, but at least he'd know she's saying it out of love.

Kate1949 Wed 30-Apr-25 14:11:20

The actress who plays Daisy was on This Morning today. What a beautiful young woman she is. She said she is joining The Archers.

Bukkie Wed 30-Apr-25 14:44:16

Charlotte Jordan who plays Daisy is absolutely stunning.
