When ours does this, I turn it off at the socket, then point the handset at the TV pressing the ‘on’ button for a minute. Then I turn it back on at the socket and turn on as normal with the handset. That seems to clear it.
I can’t remember who told be to do this, but apparently it clears the static that builds up. Worth a try.

Mine has miraculously returned to normal blooming ‘smart’ TV not so smart sometimes

J52 thanks, I will save your post and try that when (if) it happens again.

It's been ok this evening!

I fell asleep and missed last 15 mins of Wed night’s episode.

Primrose53

I fell asleep and missed last 15 mins of Wed night’s episode.

Neighbours were arguing.
One was spying on the others.
A policewoman was spying.

About sums it up I think, Primrose

Did it need to be in six episodes?
They could have condensed it to three or four.
Or two without adverts.

Enjoying this series..like most of the actors in this...

Doodledog Wed 23-Apr-25 15:58:28

I've seen it all so far (one episode to go) and it's been a lot better than many of the C5 dramas, which usually go off the rails after a good start. I was surprised at the final scene of the last one. To avoid spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, I'll just say I was expecting something to be in there, but not that. It's a very good cast, too.

Allira Wed 23-Apr-25 16:05:35

I wasn't expecting that either.

Remind me not to move there!

Doodledog Wed 23-Apr-25 16:12:06

grin.

Yes, never mind the extensions, the property prices will have taken a hit.

Allira Wed 23-Apr-25 16:16:06

I just wondering how they filmed it. Did they ask householders if they could film there, anyone wanting an extension built for free with neighbours who were happy to move out for a while? Or were all the interiors filmed in a studio?

Doodledog Wed 23-Apr-25 16:30:17

I think the outside shots will have been of a real street, but the (few) inside ones (eg of the half-built extension) will have been sets. They could probably film the outside ones in a day or two.

In my experience when filming is going on the residents are last to be considered. I once had to take a huge detour to work because the route I usually took was closed off for weeks. I had to get off the bus and walk for about half an hour mile to get in, and walk the same distance to a temporary bus stop to get home. I got no compensation, and would be unable to do it now because of my asthma. I think that people living in a couple of houses that were taken over by film crew were compensated (they will have had to move out, so presumably gave permission), but others just had to put up with it.

Doodledog Wed 23-Apr-25 16:31:08

Half a mile, not half an hour (these days it would take a lot longer to walk half a mile though!).

Why does Jill Halfpenny end up in these ridiculous dramas? She is too good an actress to waste her talents on melodrama. Last night's episode was silly although i shall watch to see who does what to those still standing, and why.

£££££££££

BlueBelle Wed 23-Apr-25 22:04:33

Well I was enjoying but it really started going down hill and became very unrealistic and silly so now I m saying it’s pretty rubbish Half the street dead or in prison or hospital or tied up in handcuffs on a kitchen floor
About as realistic and likely as a heatwave in a British winter

eazybee Wed 23-Apr-25 22:17:17

Such rubbish.
There is more than enough drama in a kitchen extension without any need for dead magpies, or dead bodies.

NastasiiaCoval Wed 23-Apr-25 22:18:45

Oh I love Jill Halfpenny, she always brings so much heart to her roles. And Chris Gascoyne is Corrie royalty — really curious to see him in something different! Neighbour drama is always juicy. Definitely tuning in for those 4 nights 💙

BlueBelle Wed 23-Apr-25 23:41:24

Well you’re a bit late to the game Nastasiia it’s over

Gin Wed 23-Apr-25 23:55:42

Found the last episode so confusing. Time wise, I could not fathom out how long daughter was chained up. They managed to get three houses on the market and husband arrested and prison visits all whilst she is on the floor attached to the cooker. Just did not make sense.

Calendargirl Thu 24-Apr-25 06:48:02

Was handcuffed daughter ever given any food or drink, or allowed to go to the toilet if she was there for days?

I kept expecting to see her sitting in a pool of wee.

Would anyone be keen to buy a house with bloodstains all over the floor and walls?

Why was Emma’s father such a baddy? He didn’t seem too bad to me.

As for the crazy policewoman….

It ended up the usual Channel 5/ Jill Halfpenny overwrought, far fetched four nights of daftness, but strangely compulsive viewing.

Ziggy62 Thu 24-Apr-25 07:46:43

Didn't understand why the murderer did it

Doodledog Thu 24-Apr-25 08:04:27

Exactly this. Why do all C5 dramas do that? They start with a promising premise then literally lose the plot. If it’s not Jill Halfpenny it’s Sally Lindsey, and they do get good casts together, but no amount of good acting can save such dreadful plots.

merlotgran Thu 24-Apr-25 08:41:31

A fit young teenager wouldn’t have remained handcuffed to an oven door for long.

Any self respecting Bake Off contestant would have yanked it open in a jiffy and been on their feet searching through the nearest drawer because every kitchen has a substitute screwdriver within easy grasp. 😂
