How Do you get through the day ?

What makes so many people harsh and critical ? Are they really so miserable they want to look for what is wrong instead of some semblance of gratitude for life ? John Lennon had a song I relate to. Nobody told me there’d be days like these.

What helps you get through the day ? I have tea and listen to songs like “White Bird” by It’s a Beautiful Day. Music that reveals our humanity. It amazes me how some people make the world a better place. Without reason.

The man in the picture would go to Carmel beach and play his bagpipes before sunset.

Love to walk on Carmel beach. Just because.

I get through most days reasonably well. Just now and then I don't. But I look around me and know that I am blessed in many ways.
One thing that looms large in my mind as I get older is the beauty of this planet and how we need to look after it. The diversity of life here is fantastic; how sad it is when we lose a species. Thankfully now there are many good people trying to stop these losses.
I love Freddie Mercury singing "It's a beautiful day"... the last line, "nothing's going to stop me now"....
Sending kind thoughts to everyone who is suffering in one way or another. flowers

Finding the still point in a whirlwind is very hard, but precious. Music helps some: a quiet room, deep breathing, another (ie the calm that practices like yoga or meditation can bring (you can do gentle yoga in bed, see u tube for ‘Adrianne’ yoga in bed, I’m a yoga teacher and have trained 2 years Buddhist meditation, look for ‘compassionate meditation’ on u tube.)

Meditation, btw, may be faith based or may not, truly open to all.

I’ve got serious MH stuff: I am Bi Polar 2, and all these things, plus being unafraid of asking loudly without anger or bitterness for support, are what has helped me.

Not to mention that most physical trouble have emotional consequences, and not to be afraid of that label, Mental Health, as there is no such thing as perfect Mental Health, or ‘normal’, after all.

I find I can’t get through all the things I want to do these days and am always pretty busy. Just as much as when I was in paid work except these are my choices. I can’t keep up with the garden, close my eyes and it is full of weeds. As for windows - forget it, I no longer clean them unless they are obviously filthy. I do vacuum and clean floors, though, not that bad !

How do you get time to "feel" things, nanna? I couldn't live without an interior life ie not busy busy all the time, feelings always poke through.

Look at this picture and just empty your mind and think beautiful thoughts. We are all on this journey together. Hugs.

I allow willowherb in my garden to grow right up to my windows, My name for it is "the summer clock" because it goes through all the stages of its growth right on time. At present it has its pretty fluff on it.

I've just realised that is what is growing above our fruit bushes - it seems to be growing out of a wall!

I love the surprises nature gives. After a long absence when very ill exploring the garden was a thrill of ‘gosh, how did that manage to grow there!
I didn’t plant it….. oooo the bees like my overgrown garden.

I’d say, try to be curious. You may find, posters, how it changes all: with the internet, something catches your curiosity… anything…

Follow it up. Something inside is always going to engage you….

I love Leonard Cohen's music. Anthem is a favourite.
But right now what gets me through is listening to I watch the Sunrise by Daniel O'Donnell which reminds me of God's wonderful creation and how he is always with me.

I begin to wonder if there is a positive correlation between high intelligence and bipolar syndrome

High intelligence and bipolar do overlap, but only slightly. It’s more about shared genetics than inevitability. (ChatGPT)
