Time for the next thread.

Abi hasn't a snowfake's chance in hell of having a happy ending with Carl/Karl. He's an out and out sleaze.

Calendargirl Tue 02-Sept-25 12:21:44

Yes, why all the fuss about Tracey’s blackmail attempt?

Call her bluff, and tell Kevin yourselves (Abi and Carl).

No £10000 to pay out (which they haven’t got), the truth revealed, and free to live happily ever after.

No guilty conscience of course about shattering several lives.

As someone else said, I think Carl intends to get the money and disappear with it to pay off his own creditors, leaving Abi behind, with her shiny face and thick lips.

Calendargirl Tue 02-Sept-25 12:23:24

Mind you, when she finds out Carl is two timing her with James, she would probably rather it was Tracey.

Less of a blow to the ego.

What is the % of gay/ bisexual characters in the street? Must be very high.

I’m happy for her to have an unhappy ending. I used to like the character, but she’s treated poor old Kev so badly. Granted, he’s not the man of anyone’s dreams, but he stuck by her and Alfie when she was at rock bottom and most other men would have walked away. She isn’t at all concerned about leaving Jack either.

Did I dream that Carl has a wife tucked away somewhere? He is never going to stay with Abi if they do walk hand in hand into the sunset. He wants and needs money.

The Corrie hospital bed has been vacant for over a week, I think. I wonder who will be the next occupant? I would hope it would be Theo but I doubt if I will be so lucky.

LovesBach Wed 03-Sept-25 09:07:55

I rather hope that Theo will be occupying a vacant place at the undertakers - perhaps a load of timber will come loose at the yard, a runaway bus, or even a lightning strike - please!

Charleygirl5 Wed 03-Sept-25 12:25:22

Theo is never long enough at the yard for an accident to happen. I am unsure if he knows where it is.

Yes, George's tender loving care would be beneficial because Todd would be so upset that he wouldn't be able to do his job.

Is it me or is that Lisa marriage proposal thing just totally cringy

Crossstitchfan Wed 03-Sept-25 20:39:11

BlueBelle, I think you’re my sister! We keep thinking the same thing!

Oh I don’t know! I loathe him too but we’ve got to have somebody to hate! If he goes……..

Doodledog Wed 03-Sept-25 20:57:53

I really, really hope that Todd sticks to his guns and cuts Theo off once and for all.

Calendargirl Wed 03-Sept-25 21:00:59

Oh, well done Todd! Stay strong!

Ghastly Theo just doesn’t get it, does he?

Always someone else’s fault….

And yes BlueBelle the proposal was embarrassing. I thought Lisa was going to do a strippogram!

Crossstitchfan Wed 03-Sept-25 21:06:59

Spoiler alert…..
I have just watched the scene where Lisa proposes to Carla. What a load of rubbish! As if they’d do it out there in front if everyone.
Ye gods, I wish they would get some decent scriptwriters for Corrie! This wretched lot are absolute crap! The storylines lately have been dire, boring and, in some cases, unbelievable. I am beginning to think they are getting desperate now. They are having to cut down on the number of actors, so there is a limit to the sort of situations they can keep putting them into. Only so many things can happen to a person, surely?

Aveline Wed 03-Sept-25 21:37:38

Oh. I was thinking it it was quite a good episode too!

Crossstitchfan Wed 03-Sept-25 21:39:42

Apart from the proposal scene, it was!

Clawdy Thu 04-Sept-25 08:11:07

Yes, really hoping Todd sticks to his guns, but knowing Corrie, he will be forgiving Theo by next week, they like to drag a storyline on for weeks.

What is going on at he moment????? Carl in bed with James and Carla and Lisa????? I feel it is telling anyone that is straight that you they are not normal?????!!!!!

Doodledog Thu 04-Sept-25 09:25:32

Gay people are normal, you know. grin

I agree that there are rather more gay relationships than is usual on the cobbles just now, but there are more people working across the road from their houses than is usual, more people who spend ages in the cafe than is usual, and more people in jail/hospital than is usual for such a small area too.

harrysgran Thu 04-Sept-25 11:11:31

Hope Todd keeps to word Theo will end up doing something fatal to him

love0c Thu 04-Sept-25 12:53:12

Doodledog And there you go proving my point! I did not say gay people are not normal. I just object to being made to feel abnormal because I am straight.

Err, ok grin

Charleygirl5 Thu 04-Sept-25 15:32:16

It will take Todd an extra day or two to recover from Theo's controlling ways, but he will forgive him until the next time, which I sincerely hope is not the last. Theo's anger and violence almost tipped over into fatal territory during last week's episode.

Not just you. It was awful. 🤮🤮

Grannynannywanny Thu 04-Sept-25 17:06:53

The proposal was cringey. It seemed ridiculous that she would be allowed to arrive in a squad car with the siren on for such a stunt.

She made a point of saying her boss had ok’d it. But as her boss appears to be nursing a grudge against her I’m wondering if he’s going to deny that he granted permission. Then it’ll be disciplinary action.
