We have just watched all four episodes of this series this afternoon. I am not normally a fan of Sheridan Smith but this is a brilliant drama and she is very impressive. The rest of the cast are also very good.

More than that, what a formidable person Ann Ming is. The world is a better place with people like her in it.

I think she is a very underrated actor. Whatever she is in she plays fully to character. Her Cilla was remarkable and as mentioned here, I fought the Law was just unbelievable. Well done to everyone involved.

Ann Ming deserves a medal as big as a frying pan. So courageous 🥹

yes she does what she has accomplished is brilliant.

Sheridan Smith is a very versatile actress and her performance as Ann Ming should surely be a contender for an award.
She dug her heels in and kept going. Women like her are pure gold.

I watched the whole thing last night.
What an impressive human being, and very humble.
It highlighted for me that the establishment have no clue about the lives of ordinary people and so change will never happen from the top.
Only from the ground up can we fight injustice and privilege.
The real heroes are the ones walking the streets where we live.

Ann Ming received a very well deserved MBE .

Just watched the last episode. This is a wonderful example of how an 'ordinary'
person who felt powerless actually overturned an ancient law and got her daughter's murderer kept in prison for an appropriate longer sentence.

I remember that terrible disaster of justice. The ineptitude of some police forces is unbelievable.

My one criticism thus far of this and other tv dramas is why don’t people ever be seen to lock their car doors? I find it very distracting. ( two episodes to go…)

I binge watched it too. Ann Ming was a force to be reckoned with and thank goodness, through her sheer determination and over several years, she managed to change the law. I was so full of admiration for her, fighting on even after her terrible ordeal and the grief that a parent can never really recover from.

Sheridan Smith was brilliant. I'm glad to see her once again in a serious, important, drama rather than conveyer-belt type nonsense like The Castaways (which I, foolishly, watched right to the very ridiculous end).

She is normally brilliant but I had forgotten Castaways. I have to agree it was rubbish and I did wonder why she did it. I did find myself wondering about medical help for her, won't say why in case anyone intends to watch it.

It's funny how these things can be annoying. With me it's when they agree to meet at X on Yday but never agree a time. Drives me irrationally crazy as I picture one of them standing there for several hours.

Did anyone see them being interviewed together? Anne Ming was so thrilled with how Sheridan Smith had portrayed her and they seemed to have formed a real friendship.

Ann Ming - such an amazing woman!
Sheridan Smith was brilliant .

A truly first class drama - what suffering Anne and her husband endured. Sheridan Smith is a great actress ; I recently saw a clip from Gavin and Stacey where she was arguing with her brother Smithy, and finally rolling around the floor punching and kicking - truly comical and well played. You might not believe this was the same actress who now portrays such anguish and grief.
