It is an incredible 50 years since Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody- a classic in modern rock/popular music.

Recorded at the iconic Rockfield Studios, it stayed in the charts at Number 1 for nine weeks and is played by classical musicians too.

A real classic, I love it.

I loved Queen, Brian May in particular. He is a brilliant guitarist.

However, I must say Roger has aged very well when I saw him on the news earlier tonight.

Er I think you will find that Roger Taylor will at some point realise his mistake and announce his undying love for me, so just watch your step grin

Did anyone hear Sam Ryder's cover on Radio 2 - it was brilliant.

I have listened to it several times over the last couple of days, thought it was flipping fabulous πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Me too. Freddie was a genius.

It's ok, I'm busy fighting Anita for Brian.
Roger's the reserve 😁

The original still gives me goose bumps.

It really does. It's amazing.

And was recorded in a studio on a farm!

I loved Queen and Sam Ryder. Has anyone seen the Bohemian Rhapsody flash mob in Paris on YouTube? It's great.

kittylester Fri 31-Oct-25 21:28:55

It was, Kate. Really loved it.

henetha Fri 31-Oct-25 21:37:13

Still as mesmerising as when I first heard it.
I still miss Freddie.

You can fast forward to the last song.

Allira Fri 31-Oct-25 21:48:02

Thank you!
I'll save it until tomorrow morning when DH is out πŸ˜€

It's not my favourite Queen song, that would be Love of my Life. I think that was from the Night at the Opera album. I saw Queen live in 1977.
I loved the film Bohemian Rhapsody about Freddie

Allira Fri 31-Oct-25 22:24:20

Yes, they were both from the same album.

Babs03 Fri 31-Oct-25 22:40:31

This song is almost operatic, suiting Freddie’s love of high drama, similar imho to Meatloaf.
These are musical performances.
Is up for discussion what the song is actually about, I assumed it was about a young man committing suicide, but others put a different spin on it.
In any case is a musical masterpiece.

My favourite is Radio GaGa as performed at Live Aid. I remember several artists performing rather lack lustre pieces than Queen came on and blew the audience away. When they sang Radio GaGa the atmosphere was electric and the crowd performed the clapping to order as well as singing along. This was peak Freddy.

So many to choose from.
I'll play some tomorrow but still won't be able to decide.

Perhaps We are the Champions πŸ€”

It is fabulous!!

Kate1949 Sat 01-Nov-25 10:43:54

It is. The organisation of it is mind boggling. I think my favourite Queen song is These Are The Days Of Our Lives.

Witzend Sat 01-Nov-25 10:52:21

A favourite of mine (apart from BH) is Don’t Stop Me Now - but sadly a sort of foreshadowing for Freddie.
