I’m A celebrity, get me out of here,

Anyone tuned in to this. I did last night. What a debacle. Is there nothing they won’t do for money?. Ruby Wax has had some sort of face lift, unbelievable.. Contestand just sticking their faces in mountains of animal entrails, blood and guts everywhere. I think they would eat dirt. .Jack Osbourne is the most grounded and likeable and also Lisa Riley, still they went in. The others not so. They are all wealthy people, they don't need the money, its not character building in anyway, I do not get it..Is it just any publicity is better than none. Cannot see how it will do Kelly any favours whatsoever.

My son does deliveries for Tesco. He said one of his customers asked what time he was finishing and said "Oh you'll be home in time for I'm A Celebrity" I think his answer was along the lines of "Hell will freeze over first"

TiggyW Thu 27-Nov-25 20:07:59

GrannyGravy13 - Exactly!
It’s the people watching. It doesn’t matter who they are. It’s how they interact with each other.

DrWatson Thu 27-Nov-25 20:18:49

Yes, it's a 'marmite' show, and yes, the people on it being called 'celebrity' is just silly, years ago that term meant something, but not for years now.

We occasionally see a few mins of it, when zapping through channels, and discovering that yet again the 10 OC News has been delayed so airheads can watch this undiluted tripe.

I see some comments saying "we love it" -- please DO say why? Every year has the same or very similar 'trials'. get bugs poured over you, eat a kangaroo or wombat's private parts, and watch Ant & Dec mustering yet more fake enthusiasm for whichever nonentity is doing this or that. Mmm, riveting.

As for the chitchat between contestants, Lord Help Us, why not buy a Tube ticket and take a tour of the Circle Line for several hours, listen to inane babbling on there?

The problem is not ITV putting it on, it's with YOU the audience. a sad judgement on the state of the country.

Crossstitchfan Thu 27-Nov-25 20:37:24

If you don’t like it, you are not forced to watch it. However, those who do watch, (and those who don’t) will all be thrilled yo know your thoughts on it. If you don’t like it, that’s your prerogative, but you don’t have to belittle those who do.
Do you think you’re superior ‘Dr’? I think you’re just opinionated and frankly, I don’t care what you think of us. Go and be sanctimonious somewhere else, and leave us ‘plebs’ to enjoy ourselves. I wasn’t amused by your final comment either! Are you SO much better than those of who do watch? I doubt it, you just think you are!

rafichagran Thu 27-Nov-25 20:42:02

Why is it whenever there is a thread like this, some posters come on the thread to tell us who watch it how dreadful the programne is, how mind numbingly boring, and that they don't watch it. Well why comment, it is tedious for us who want to discuss the programne, and the people in it.

If you do not want to watch it, fine, but I don't understand if you feel that way why you would bother commenting.

😂Why don’t you tell it like it is DrWatson ?

cupcake1 Thu 27-Nov-25 20:47:20

Well said Crossstitchfan 👏👏 sanctimonious is dead right it’s laughable really !

rafichagran Thu 27-Nov-25 20:52:56

DrWatson That is a patronising post, rude and disrespectful.
Peoples viewing does not give you the right to be insulting
It really says more about you.

Oreo Thu 27-Nov-25 20:57:09

I’ll be honest, I’ve never watched it, but I like Race Around The World and Traitors.
Sometimes you just want something light and undemanding.

Crossstitchfan Thu 27-Nov-25 21:03:20

Also, ‘dr’ Watson, I forgot to say… what gives you the right to call us ‘airheads’? Ridiculous thing to say.
Have you ever heard of people watching

Grannynannywanny Thu 27-Nov-25 21:07:31

I do love a tv thread😆
Especially when posters like DrWatson know everything about the programme and can tell us how dreadful it is despite proclaiming never to watch it.

Crossstitchfan Thu 27-Nov-25 21:09:53

Cont’d
Have you never heard of people watching tv just to get a bit of light relief, to wind down after a stressful day?
Or are you one of those pretentious bores who tries to convince everyone else that they are superior in intelligence and wouldn’t dream of watching such drivel?
In any event, you are not important enough to tell the rest of us what we should and shouldn’t enjoy. So back off, and go and bother someone who gives a damn!
I am now going to watch tonight’s ’I’m a Celeb’ so put that in your pipe and smoke it!!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 27-Nov-25 21:11:22

I always think when you start throwing out insults you have lost the argument…

GrannyGravy13 Thu 27-Nov-25 21:12:24

Crossstitchfan 👍🏻

rafichagran Thu 27-Nov-25 21:23:02

There should be no argument, I am watching it now and enjoying it.
I used to do the big brother thread, I got sick of some posters coming on to thread namecalling, saying people who liked it probably read the daily star, so what if they do. This is a thread for people who enjoy the programme.

crazyH Thu 27-Nov-25 21:24:59

Well said Crossstitchfan 👏👏👏

Allsorts Thu 27-Nov-25 21:31:46

It just shows how wrong I am. I find Toms put on voice so irritating, used to switch over whenever he's on tv, yet many seem to like it. agree he is probably a very nice guy though.. Don’t watch any eating trials, like the camp fire chats. Ruby has never amused me, just rude and brittle and her face lift has done her no favours, she looks weird, I wonder she can’t see that. I very much doubt anyone gives money paid to be in there to charity.

rafichagran Thu 27-Nov-25 21:34:50

I will be sure to tell my daughter with her MSc who is a editor in chief of a magazine that she is a airhead, she loves this programne.
She is very serious about her job, and this is one programme she can enjoy, relax and not take too seriously.

crazyH Thu 27-Nov-25 21:41:00

Ruby’s story about when she started her periods was funny 😄

rafichagran Thu 27-Nov-25 21:44:08

I thought the Mickey and minnie story was funny. I really enjoy listening to Ruby.
She is what she is, she is not a people pleaser.

I've never watched Big Brother therefore wouldn't join in a thread about it or call others airheads for their choice of viewing.

Just watched Race Across the World, I presume that's on the blacklist too.

Could Dr Watson provide posters with a list of approved tv programmes, please?

Crossstitchfan Thu 27-Nov-25 21:56:04

Exactly my point, Rafichagran. It’s a programme that people can relax with and enjoy. I have never understood the snobbery about what people watch. The TV programmes are there to be enjoyed, whether they are documentaries, dramas, comedy sketches etc. What does it matter if a professor or similar watches ‘I’m a Celeb’? Why shouldn’t they? For me, TV is to be enjoyed, and doesn’t have to be highbrow. A friend of mine, who is a real brain box, with degrees, inventions, speeches etc to her name, loved the most simple programmes that she could relax and watch without needing to use much of her brain. She said she had enough pressure at work and Tv was her way of getting her brain back in gear until she felt ‘normal’ again.
Each to his own. It is no-one’s business but their own as to what they watch in their spare time. Tv is for pleasure, at least in my case.

Allira Thu 27-Nov-25 22:00:03

Having read this thread, decided to watch it 😁

lemsip Thu 27-Nov-25 22:01:15

DrWatson

clickbait

rafichagran Thu 27-Nov-25 22:41:20

I thought Ruby's comment to Tom during the drinking trial was very funny.
