Sorry if there’s already a thread about this, but I can’t find one. We actually enjoyed that tonight, not all of it. What’s enough of it to keep us watching?
I remember Kathryn Jenkins as a warm up act at a concert I went to. Very good tonight.
That dog really made me laugh.
I now want to go and see Paddington.
Last but never least Les Mis. Always superb.

I enjoyed tonight too. My favourite boy band Westlife are as good as ever. Jessie J brought a tear to my eye with her beautiful song especially poignant having two friends who have both lost sons to suicide.

Started it, saw about ten minutes, the left it, not for me

GrannyIvy Mon 22-Dec-25 06:46:05

We enjoyed it especially Paddington and Les mis. Didn’t like the dog and some other acts but on the whole very enjoyable. Jason Manford is a good compère. Kathryn Jenkins is lovely I would so love to wear a dress like that! I love Michael Ball. Bob Geldof was chewing gum !!!!

Charleygirl5 Mon 22-Dec-25 10:46:41

I wasn't expecting much but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also am a fan of Michael Ball.

I barely recognised JoJo in Kinky Boots, but not something I would go to watch.

I don’t usually watch it but I’m going to give it a go this year after reading these comments.

really enjoyed this last night! A good all round entertainment show.
The Paddington musical part was magic!

merlotgran Mon 22-Dec-25 13:25:54

I usually turn it off after about ten minutes but watched all of it last night.
I loved the Dead Ringers act and there was an older comedian towards the end (can’t remember his name) who only had a very short act but was very funny.
Loved Paddington and Les Mis.

I loved the show. The magician was amazing. Jason is always good. I also loved Les Mis and Just One Day. Bob was just being Bob. He raised all that money along with the others. It was a very special time when ordinary people like myself could buy a record , give a little money and know it was doing some good.

What a wonderful show that was. I thought I would be turning it off after a while, which I usually do, but I watched it to the end and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I also remember Katherine Jenkins as a warm up act years ago at one of those 'picnic in the park' afternoon events that had just become all the rage. Got to be over 20yrs ago.

Waitrose sponsored the event and had a pop up mini shop onsite, selling the most delicious picnic foods.

I remember Katherine wearing a long wrap dress, the front of which she unfolded and it became a Union Jack, as she sang the National Anthem.

We waved our flags and sang along.

I remember El Divo the next year.

I dint usually watch but watched it for Les Mis and wasn’t disappointed. I shed a tear, as I always do.
The rest was enjoyable, and the variety of the acts took me back to days gone by. Once we had a tv we never missed Sunday night at the London Palladium.

Jason Manford is in the panto in Manchester (Robin Hood). Our younger daughter, son in law and both grandchildren are really looking forward to it at the Opera House because he’s starring. I’d never heard of him!

silverlining48 Mon 22-Dec-25 15:16:59

I don’t know who he is either, still don’t, so might google ….

Grandmadinosaur Mon 22-Dec-25 15:32:10

We dipped in and out of it and yes it was a big improvement on other years. Les Mis to finish was wonderful as always. It makes me want to see it again.

Calendargirl Mon 22-Dec-25 16:10:46

Jason Manford was in ‘Scarborough’ alongside Catherine Tyldesley a few years ago,

A very funny series which never saw the light of day after only one run. Such a shame when we keep seeing tripe like ‘Mrs Browns Boys’ getting series after series.

I saw Jojo in Kinky Boots in Southampton. He was amazing & there was ever a role written to him, this was it. Definitely worth seeing

4allweknow Tue 23-Dec-25 15:37:52

Not my usual viewing but saw it on and off. Jessie J's song so beautiful. Don't know their name but thought the group of 4 comedians was good.

jobieP Tue 23-Dec-25 15:45:27

Max Wall was funny. Otherwise we flicked back and forth with A/Road show.
Hate musicals (apart from Chicargo)

jobieP Tue 23-Dec-25 15:47:58

Oops! Should have checked first. Max is no longer with us.
Wonder who it was?

jobieP Tue 23-Dec-25 16:01:30

Mick Miller. Can be seen on your tube

WithNobsOnIt Tue 23-Dec-25 16:28:37

Thiught this kind of show has bitten the dust years ago.

Presume Andrew Mountbstten was not invited as the guest of honour?

Harris27 Tue 23-Dec-25 17:40:12

Really enjoyed it and was in on my own hubby out. I watched it right through thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beechnut Tue 23-Dec-25 18:21:04

Didn’t Jason Manford present on the One Show for a while.?

Peaseblossom Tue 23-Dec-25 21:57:55

jobieP He was born in 1908! I remember him from my childhood.
