Sure, it's had some dross on during the last decade or two, but as the British public so loves utter tripe like 'Wannabe Celebs Covered in Cockroaches', and 'Love Island Narcissists' (etc) then the folk booking the acts are presumably using a low threshold?

As for the "Jason Manford - never heard of him" - really, where HAVE you been?! He's a reliable host for all such events, has been on every comedy panel show going, is a panto regular, and was in Waterloo Road for a while, also the Scarborough mild comedy series.

Oh, just saw that "liked Max Wall" comment. He died in 1990, so would be delighted to hear such praise?! That chap was actually Mick Miller. who might date as far back as The Comedians series (?), and he was quite funny.

We watched the recording of the show, to zip through all the stuff of no interest, and stopped on him as we couldn't remember his name! The Dead Ringers section was great, and Katherine Jenkins, and the magician (looked about 12 to me?!) was good, especially as they linked to Charles being in the Magic Circle (I expect he'd like to make Andrew disappear?).
