Anyone up for a Traitors thread?

It was the result I wanted but absolutely couldn't be sure it would be OK till the end. I was gearing up to be furious with Stephen but in the end he did the decent thing. Great editing though!

I think they deserved to win. They played the game perfectly although I couldn’t take to Rachel.
I was impressed by the way they stuck to their promises to each other.

NotAGran55 Sat 24-Jan-26 09:25:37

I couldn’t take to either of the traitors but they definitely deserved to win.
I was convinced that Rachel was going to do the dirty on Stephen and I was wrong yet again.

Is anyone going to watch the Irish one? I am, I love the show.

To me the best series to date was the second Australian one.

I was sure my blood pressure hit the roof during those last few minutes of suspense. Not sure it's gone back to normal yet. But what great editing and what a superb performance by the last two standing.

I found this finale a little disappointing. It was pretty obvious that Stephen and Rachel were going to win- what else could they have done but gang up together? Compared to other finales where you were kept guessing to the last minute this was a let down.
They had both been Traitors from the beginning, never recruited, got rid of the one other Traitor they didn't choose, and then just sat it out.
Yes, they played the game but the odds were always weighted in their favour and they have set a precedent for future series ie- stick together, be nice and don't recruit.
That will make for rather dull television- there were some interesting characters in there but the boring ones were left at the end so the lesson is - just be boring.
I'm glad its over, I do feel slightly manipulated and won't be watching again.

I agree, keepingquiet and can’t help thinking the result was fixed. They couldn’t have a treacherous act like in the previous series (not the celebrity one) as it would have been too samey so this one was nice and heartwarming.

Cynical, moi? Yes but I’ll definitely carry on watching. 😂

How did they fix the choosing of the boxes between Rachel and James 🤔 ?

What makes tpyou think it was fixed?

When she took the furthest one, I thought no, that's too obvious, Rachel!

Yes, I think so too.

I saw a bit of the Irish version whilst channel hopping. The people in it seemed much more like the sort of people you’d bump into in the supermarket ( however I haven’t really watched Traitors and only dipped into the latest one occasionally so I don’t know if that’s correct).

Maggiemaybe Sat 24-Jan-26 10:19:25

I thought it was brilliant - even more of a tense finale than usual because right to the end I expected either Stephen or Rachel to turn on the other. They both played a blinder all along and deserved to share the prize.

Sorry, my question was directed to those who think the show was fixed.
How could the box choosing be fixed, unless Rachel had been told to take her one?

I enjoyed it although I am suspicious of the outcome. There were opportunities for the Traitors to be exposed, but none of the faithfuls picked them up.
It was interesting that Jade kept a matrix on who had been voted against at the round table and knew that Rachel and Stephen had few votes and hadn’t voted for each other. She kept putting forward Rachel’s name in conversation.

Sparklefizz Sat 24-Jan-26 10:45:49

I thought it was fantastic. The Faithfuls had a number of opportunities to pick up on the Traitors when they let things slip (Rachel "If I were a Faithful .... I mean a Traitor ...") but they didn't twig.

I thought the last mission was nail-biting! Even round the fire pit I thought Stephen was going to vote Rachel out, and felt so pleased that they stuck to their promise. It's what I hoped they would do.

I have loved this series the most, but will give the Traitors Ireland a try and see how I get on.

Ah, get it!! 😀 Sorry.

No, it couldn't have been.

Anything which would indicate fixing of any kind would bring the whole franchise into disrepute and make a mockery of the programmes internationally.

REKA Sat 24-Jan-26 11:16:41

I was very pleased with the outcome. The faithfuls weren't particularly good. Stephen and Rachel deserved the win. I did think that Stephen was about to out Rachel but the pair of them remained loyal to each other. Maybe not the way to play the game but it was good to see.

I've not watched this before but shall do from now on.

ferry23 Sat 24-Jan-26 11:26:27

Whenever a programme doesn't go the way some people would like - it's always "a fix".

All these reality shows, however clever or however banal, rely heavily on clever editing and audience expectation research - not "fixing".

keepingquiet Sat 24-Jan-26 13:06:04

I don't think the chest thing was fixed. Rachel just got lucky, but she was also lucky to be chosen as a Traitor.

I'm not sure how many Faithfuls have won?

The whole game is predicated for the Traitors to win, which is why they all want to be one...

Exactly. It's weighted so heavily in their favour and the odds are with them.

The traitors know who are traitors and who are faithfuls. The faithfuls know neither. The faithfuls have to banish every traitor and given the number of contestants for at least half of the time, if not more, they're more likely to pick a faithful, the law of probabilities says so.

I'm no statistician but I wonder what the odds are of faithfuls winning.

OldFrill Sat 24-Jan-26 14:27:58

3 faithfuls won series 1
1 traitor won series 2
2 faithfuls won series 3
2 traitors (50%) won series 4

ferry23 Sat 24-Jan-26 20:20:38

Thanks OldFrill.
A traitor can win all the money, faithfuls will always have to share.

There has to be at least 2 at the end. But even if there's 3 if one or more is a traitor they take it all. So the best scenario for faithfuls is that there are 2 of them left at the end and they share.

I think that's right?

keepingquiet Sat 24-Jan-26 20:53:00

1 traitor won series 2
2 faithfuls won series 3
2 traitors (50%) won series 4

Thanks- shows how much attention I've been paying even though I love the show!!
So that's a ration of 3:5 to the faithful.
Maybe I will watch the next series after all!

Millie22 Sat 24-Jan-26 21:04:11

I hadn't watched any of the previous series so didn't know what happened when they got down to the final few.

I couldn't really take to Rachel but I liked Stephen. I would have liked him and Jade to win and still share the money.

Grannynannywanny Sat 24-Jan-26 22:42:10

I’ve drifted in to watching the Irish Traitors this evening. I’ve watched the first 2 episodes and I’m hooked. It was shown in Ireland last year but is now on BBC Iplayer if anyone is interested.

merlotgran Sat 24-Jan-26 23:41:36

Did anyone watch the documentary on Claudia on Channel 5 this evening?
It described her wardrobe on the Traitors as Ronnie Corbett meets Princess Anne, meets Madonna in her Guy Ritchie years. 😂
I think Princes Anne would approve.
