I love all the creative/arty programmes. I miss Grayson Perry’s programme we watched during covid.

Me too. Still great TV ideal for a Sunday and full of joy.

I'm a potter but I think the standard and expectations are absurdly high.
Fynn took up pottery only 3 years ago!

I am curious to know what help they get behind the scenes.

I do enjoy the series.

They have a short tutorial on what they will be asked to make on the next programme. There are ways of potting, decorating and using kilns that many of them haven't come across before.
I should think all of them learn a lot to carry forward into their pottery making. Lovely series.

Yes. The detail in that theatre, both of sculpting the shapes, and the decoration was utterly compelling - I found the winner's, in comparison, clunky and clumsy.

Same here. It all looked very grey by comparison to the other 2, particularly Elham's model theatre. Perhaps we can go and help Keith and Rich judge the next series. grin

I wanted another winner, but wont mention names...it was the tiny detail, so exquisite, more than the others, that made me feel that in the final piece.

Elham by any chance? I thought her theatre was packed with detail and colour and expected her to win but the technical challenge let her down. Great potters and all seem such lovely people.

I enjoyed the final, think the right person won, but all the items were lovely.

I think the standard was particularly high in this series. All three finalists deserved to win.
I did enjoy the task set, it made me wonder what I would have created.

Such a lovely non-demanding watch. All final three were brilliant, I wish I could have seen all three stages in real life, there was so much detail.

Even if I had the skill, I'd never have the patience.

It has been a lovely series and I shall be sorry to see the end of it. I won't mention names, just in case. No complaints about the winner. They had been consistently good since the first programme and produced the best theatre for their final build.

J52 Mon 02-Mar-26 12:36:48

Hard to tell who will win, as previously said it depends on the make and the firing.

Sarnia Mon 02-Mar-26 11:45:14

Down to the final 3. Angharad, Elham and Fynn are so closely matched I think it will all hinge on what they produce for their final pieces.
I haven't a craft bone in my body but I love watching this programme. The contestants must learn so much. The judges, Keith and Rich, aren't cruel in their comments and the presenter, Siobhan, is just right. An oasis in a crazy world.

I love this programme, but I feel that like the other “Great British…” craft/cookery programmes, the unpractised challenges are becoming evermore fanciful.

Poor Naveed. I was hoping he was going to get Potter of the Week. He has improved so much and as Rich said, he thought outside the box with his vegetable display in a lovely vase. I usually have a front runner by this stage but they are very evenly matched. It could be any of the remaining 6.

I don’t know why but I m really not enjoying this last series and I ve watched it with great pleasure since it first started
I just can’t get into it this time Perhaps it’s me !
I m not even remembering the contestants names this time round, maybe it’s just too samey, I m not sure but I m a bit bored with it now, I love art I love pottery and I like the presenters ( not too keen on she who tries to be funny) but it’s not hitting the sides this time !

Marilla Mon 09-Feb-26 10:07:49

I really look forward to the Great Pottery Throw Down.
I think this series has been particularly interesting as it’s not so obvious who might be the overall winner.
It’s wonderful to see the individual skills of each potter and how they interpret each challenge.
The professional potters and the presenter are a delight.

Sarnia Mon 09-Feb-26 09:25:38

My goodness, what a week! Tisanes and chimineas. I was pleased Elhan was awarded Potter of the Week and given the tough challenges and Emily's absence that nobody was sent home.

Sarnia Mon 19-Jan-26 10:05:07

That was a shock to see Mark go home but as his jug was the only one that could not be tested with water, the judges had no choice.
There isn't a single potter on here that I don't like. The potters, judges and presenter are all spot on. Game of Wool, please take note!!!

BlueBelle Mon 05-Jan-26 19:26:51

I thought the right person went home she was definitly the weakest

Luckygirl3 Mon 05-Jan-26 18:52:54

I enjoyed it ... I thought they were all good.

MollyNew Mon 05-Jan-26 18:44:23

There are some very talented potters this year so it should be a good watch for the next few weeks.

Visgir1 Mon 05-Jan-26 16:31:41

It's one of the delights on TV.
I do admire those Potters. I did Pottery at School many moons ago, but I was hopeless, and I was classed to be "Artistic" (I had a place at Art School years later) but I couldn't get the hang of throwing a Pot.

Every year the talent pool improves on this show, they are all so talented, I love it.

I loved some of the results. Loved the colours and simplicity in the owl and fox tureen.

That was my favourite too. I can see why Keith and Rich chose the set they did and if Andrew hadn't broken his ladle then he may have been Potter of the Week. Some good potters which will make for a lovely series.
