New thread.

Calendargirl

Doodledog and Aveline.

That photo just makes Dev look more manic than usual, if that’s possible.

😂

It was specially chosen 🤫

BlueBelle Sun 01-Feb-26 12:50:53

Dev is quite cute but cannot act for toffee it’s not just bad lines he gets, it’s his desperately poor acting skills, he puts the emphasise of words all in the wrong places. He’s a nice looking guy though and aging well but I want to shake him when he gets the hard and soft bits of words all the wrong way round.
No I ve never seen him in anything else do you mean anyone other than Corrie pays him to get it so wrong 🤣🤣🤣

Doodledog Sun 01-Feb-26 13:31:11

He was in East is East, I think. Basically playing the Dev we all know, and (some of us) love😀.

I’ve just looked it up.

‘East Is East’ was 1999.

Has Dev done nothing else, apart from Corrie, in the last 26 years?

Hmm, I wonder why?🤷‍♀️

confused

I saw East is east a looong time ago but I can’t remember him
I ll have to re look

Aveline Sun 01-Feb-26 16:06:56

He has an extensive 'filmography' as it's called in Wikipedia. I'd have cut and pasted it here but it was too long. I first noticed him in 'Medics'.

I’ve just read that cassie is leaving. So pleased. I’ve never liked her.

Doodledog Sun 01-Feb-26 16:54:20

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but please, no spoilers 😊. It can ruin the experience of watching if we know things like that in advance of it happening on screen.

I think he was a cousin who owned/managed a cinema.

Oh poor, poor Debbie that was heart breaking sad

Grannynannywanny Wed 04-Feb-26 21:40:59

Poor Debbie. That was a heart wrenching performance. I wonder if Carl will quickly come round to the idea of being Debbie’s son when he thinks of his inheritance.

BlueBelle Wed 04-Feb-26 22:24:48

Didn’t Debbie do well? her acting was superb tonight

Calendargirl Thu 05-Feb-26 06:50:17

Why on earth was Lauren doing her nails when she was meant to be working?

That and her rude, mardy attitude would mean the sack, I would have thought.

And of course, as pointed out so many times, Frankie never seems to be mentioned nowadays.

So much for being such a devoted mother.

Aveline Thu 05-Feb-26 06:52:23

I thought Debbie was doing well and acting the part well to begin with but overegged it towards the end.

Sarnia Thu 05-Feb-26 07:31:22

I thought the scenes with Debbie and Carl were very good. I almost felt sorry for Carl, almost.

theworriedwell Thu 05-Feb-26 11:49:35

I love Lauren, she's a proper Corrie character in the line of Ena Sharples and Blanche. Bit young but I think she does it well.

Maggiemaybe Thu 05-Feb-26 12:37:07

I can’t imagine that Maggie from the Rovers would have put up with Lauren’s attitude for a single shift though. And customers would be walking out, surely, if she spoke to them the way she does.

I wonder if she’s still in touch with Max? Nobody else seems to remember him.

Bukkie Thu 05-Feb-26 14:56:56

Calendargirl I am baffled as to why they are making Lauren as rude as possible. I suspect Frankie is in the 24 hr childcare facility alongside Glory, the quads, Bertie, Alfie and Harry.

Calendargirl Thu 05-Feb-26 15:47:53

Max is long forgotten, alongside Daisy, Jenny, Craigy, Beth, Tim’s daughter whose name escapes me, …..

How soon we forget…

BlueBelle Thu 05-Feb-26 15:51:02

theworriedwell I like Lauren too I think she plays a good part

Devorgilla Thu 05-Feb-26 16:28:58

Most of the clientele of The Rovers are personal friends of everyone else so I guess that's why they tolerate it. Wonder if Debbie's been sent down yet.

I think Maggie might see a bit of herself in Lauren.

Hope Mal washed his hands before cooking the ham, egg and chips.

And put a pinny on.

Dylis Fri 06-Feb-26 22:56:16

Not sure I would be keen on a random bloke cooking my sausage, egg and chips!
Health and safety would have a field day. Im not really sure what electrical work Mal has actually employed to do.
