Thank you BBC for the massive spoiler in the trailers. I was saving it for a binge watch!

Calendargirl

Did Tom refer to his cat as ‘Corky’?

Yes he did 😂Corky the cat.
Black humour as he killed Corky with his own hands in the past.

Both Hugh Laurie and Tom Hollander are really good actors in everything they’re in.
I loved Rev.

Glad there’s a thread about The Night Manager. This is absolutely not my sort of thing, prefer more light hearted programmes or gentle who ‘done it’s’ without any visual violence, but I am just drawn to this. But I’m finding it terrifying and my heart rate increases. Apart from the actual gory bits which I turn away from and cover my ears, it’s the underlying tension from the menace and threat of real evil that runs through it. Goodness, I want to know the outcome but don’t want to watch. Same with the first series - I’m certainly not bored, I like our hero and the loyalty and honour he stands for and no problem with him being 10 years older - just terrified. One more to go if I can stand it - am just watching weekly Sunday evenings. I’m tempted to give it a miss and just read up about how it ends after the last episode next Sun, but I guess I’ll likely be drawn to it again.

Well, that was a roller coaster finale. The baddie got away and appears to have won, the goodie lives but badly injured and sadly other goodies lost their lives along the way. So it appears Jonathan Pine 1, Richard Roper 1. The producers are playing with us because of course there has to be a 3rd series to resolve things! Not sure I want to get involved again, too nail biting and heart rate increasing. Think I’ll stick to something gentler, although of course they do say, never say never!

I thought series 2 got off to a slow start but then ramped up. I’ve really enjoyed it. At the end, evil triumphed so Roper has to get his come uppance in series 3. Hugh Laurie has said he absolutely loves playing one of the most menacing tv villains I’ve ever seen. Was this really a comedy actor at one time? As for messing with your head I almost felt sorry for Teddy at the end, taken out by his own father. Then I had to remember he was a merciless killer himself!

I felt the same about Teddy, glammagran - almost sorry for him - until I remembered what he’d done and was planning to do. And Roper is set to manipulate and do it all again with Danny his other son. Until I remembered it’s a television drama!

I also almost forgot it was just a story at the end! So many twists and turns, it was terrificly entertaining. Can't wait for the third series. Noah Jupe is a great young actor so it will be fascinating to see how Danny progresses. Hugh Laurie is a fabulous actor, I loved him in House and Blackadder.

I’ve just seen that a new series is being written now so let’s hope it won’t take them ten years this time.

I was also struck by how beautiful Columbia looks. I’d love to visit to see the natural beauty but of course, never will.

I loved both series, having binged watched both in the few weeks.

I hated the ending of series two!

I think Tom Hiddleston was gorgeous in both series.

I’m livid Olivia Coleman’s character was shot and left for her young daughter to find!

I watched series 1 with daughter3.

Tom Hiddleston is gorgeous. The others? Not at all.

Daughter 2 informed us series 2 is tedious.
