You are not the only one sago, I’ve never watched them either.

Last time I saw a full episode of Emmerdale was when it had Farm in the title, that's how long ago it was.

I used to love Emmerdale Farm Cumbrianmale56 I was living in the wilds of Cornwall and it was full of the sort of people that I knew. Then they knocked "Farm" off the end and turned it into a sort of EastEnders with fields.

I think there have been a load of good programmes on BBC, Channel 4, ITV and sometimes Channel 5 (for example, series like Blue Lights, Mystery Road, Trespasses, the documentary series Storyville, Waiting for the Out, etc, etc). There is no need to watch lots of reality programmes if you don't like them (and I only like some of them). Sky Arts also has some very good programmes.

I think good telly is difficult to find on Netflix and the other pay-for channels. Occasionally there are some really good series but there's an awful lot of formulaic and cliched drama too.

When there's not much on telly, there's always the radio. I admit I rarely listen as I've just got into the habit of watching the TV - but I do like Desert Island Discs.

I’ve never watched any of them either. Never seen I’m a Celeb, call/send for The Midwife thing, Big Brother or any of the programmes directed at younger viewers like Love Island, Married at First Sight, First Dates or TOWIE. I don’t need to watch them to know the format.
I’m still watching Gogglebox occasionally, but some of the contributors now wind me up!

I'm afraid 'The Archers' has pretty much gone the same way in recent years - once upon a time it revolved around a compact and recogniseable rural community, but now?

The powers that be have firmly dictated that it should cover diversity, inclusivity and every aspect of political correctness from all possible angles and thus it now appears to have grown to a cast of thousands to accommodate multiple story lines simultaneously.

Big Switch Off.

I have watched each at some point over the years except BGT. They have been occasional dip ins. Often I am put off by presenters, I don't like Mel and Sue, David Walliams, Matt Lucas, I can't watch Masked Singer because of Davina McColl (is there any other person who has to be in the limelight more than her?) I was put off strictly when behaviours became headlines. I do watch Coronation Street and sometimes EastEnders but such lot of screaming and shouting in Albert Square . I realise this sounds very negative, there is not a lot that is good reality TV. I did like MasterChef though honestly was not keen on Greg. As has been said, WalterPresents on C4 has lots of Scandi Noir which I love and perfectly happy with subtitles. Others on various channels I loved were Breaking Bad/Better call Saul etc. which went on for ever, Dead Winds and a few others. I have also stayed with Stranger Things over the years to the end. I do jump on and off my subscriptions so that I am only paying when there is a series or film I I want.

I’ve seen odd episodes of Bake Off, BGT, Repair Shop, Strictly (dances only) in the past, and enjoyed them. One episode of I’m a Celebrity, until it came to an eating challenge. Watched the first series of Big Brother, which was really interesting, but nothing since. I used to like First Dates, but have no interest at all in the other dating things. I’m tiring of Gogglebox - it’s still funny in parts, but there’s too much f-ing and blind-ing and playing to the camera from some participants. I do enjoy Sewing Bee. I’m a latecomer to Traitors, and love it - once a year’s quite enough though. I might be the only person still watching The Apprentice, which I think has improved in recent years. And I love Corrie, for all its faults.

People don’t usually just sit and watch TV without doing something else, do they (sewing, knitting, jigsawing etc)? I’m surprised by the number of posters saying it’s a waste of their time.

I watched ten minutes of Love Island. I think that was enough for one lifetime.

I do watch Strictly d really like it. Sometimes Bake-off not always. I did watch Celebrity Traitors because the people were well known but feel ordinary people would be boring. Ditto Sewing Bee loathe sewing. Reality shows such as Big Brother or Celebrity Get me out of Here, I’d rather watch paint dry they are so awful

Oh Chocolatelovinggran, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall, when you first sat down to watch Naked attraction!!
What sort of a person would wish to show-off their 'Bits to the masses?
Also, how would any of you Gran's react, if one of your family- members popped-up on this show!!!

Watch or don’t watch. Your choice but don’t make a virtue out of not watching certain things.
