Utterly fantastic. If you missed it last night on BBC 2 do find in iplayer. What a gem.

Thanks, I saw a trailer for it a few days ago but then forgot about it.

Oreo Tue 10-Feb-26 08:22:11

Isn’t it called Small Prophets?

MayBee70 Tue 10-Feb-26 08:33:28

It is. But my brain keeps switching it to false which is why I couldn’t find it on catchup last night!

Isn’t it called Small Prophets?

It is. Sorry. I can't correct it now. Sorry.

Oreo Tue 10-Feb-26 09:00:28

Don’t worry, it may garner more interest the way it is😃

Witzend Tue 10-Feb-26 09:50:48

Thanks - forgot to watch but will find on iplayer. If it’s anything like as good as The Detectorists…

Doodledog Tue 10-Feb-26 10:03:41

Oh. I didn't like the trailer with the little clawed monster climbing out of a plant pot, so wan't going to bother with it grin.

I'll give it a go now it's been recommended though. Thank you.

I’ve only watched one episode but it’s shaping up nicely. The poignant humour of The Detectorists meets magic realism.

We thoroughly enjoyed this. It's just my kind of comedy. We have decided to watch it weekly, something to look forward to.

So delightful, and magical, with gentle humour, what a treat on a miserable wet day.
Perfect casting " have you had your break" could well be a new catch phrase?
Mackenzie Crook is such an unassuming talent, this is going to be another beautiful series from him.

Enjoyed the first two episodes this afternoon, gentle quirky comedy.
Am thinking of a career in underwater welding now😄

I'm looking forward to Celebrity Barrel Scraping.

we watched because its by brilliant Mackenzie Crook, a slow start but will persevere.

his "Detectorists" was wonderful, if anyone hasn't seen that.

We're looking forward to watching it, the reviews have been very good.

Thanks for the reminder.

Michael Palin was so good as the Dad.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 10-Feb-26 19:37:23

I have watched two episodes now and it’s shaping up nicely.
Written by Detectorist’s Mackenzie Crook and he is acting in it.

joannapiano Tue 10-Feb-26 19:45:14

I have also watched the first two episodes and am really enjoying it. Very quirky and funny. Mackenzie Crook is a real jobsworth manager of the DIY shop. Lovely to see Michael Palin again.

MayBee70 Tue 10-Feb-26 20:43:50

Thank goodness each episode is only 30 minutes as I’m binge watching it. So delightfully quirky. How do people think up such things. And the music is lovely, too.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 10-Feb-26 21:25:05

Homunculi 😄😄.

Love it!

Retread Tue 10-Feb-26 21:48:09

Enjoying it too 🤗

However I really hope his really irritating male colleague who keeps cackling and shrieking and shouting his name doesn’t appear beyond Episode 2! If he is meant to be irritating, it’s working!

Grannybags Tue 10-Feb-26 21:54:08

I didn’t think I’d like it but we’re binge watching on iPlayer now!

Love the characters in it and the gentle humour

Pittcity Tue 10-Feb-26 22:29:48

Just finished the 6 episodes and need to know what happens next.
Brilliant!
