Is it showing him I can t bear the films with lookalikes
I haven’t seen it advertised here, is it only just out ?

Sounds good. Love Elvis but like Bluebelle can’t stand actors playing his part. Have watched just about every documentary about him but a compilation sounds good.
Haven’t heard anything about this film and can’t get out to the cinema so am hoping it will soon be on Netflix or Prime maybe.

I love Elvis! He was just so perfect when he was young, both in looks and wonderful voice.

It is a compilation of his shows, so presume this means it is Elvis. I may go see it this week.

Very influential, controversial, emulated by a great many other artists, I didnt buy any of his records, I do remember taking at least 2 girlfriends to see Elvis films at the "pictures"when I was 16.

Genuine Elvis throughout. His outfits were great which matched his singing.

He said he would like to visit the U.K. and European cities. He didn’t realise that his manager Colonel Parker was an illegal immigrant and thought that if he left the US he might not be allowed back in.

My only slight criticism was that the first 15 minutes or so had snippets of his songs. We got the full version from then on.

Just been released in cinemas around the country.

Those films were pretty short on a plot 🤣but we loved them because it was Elvis, happy days indeed.

This film has had very good reviews for “celebrating his musicality”. I love Elvis, especially the big ballads ☺️ and will definitely be going to see this film - it’s one and a half hours long (not the indulgent 3 hours like so many modern films) and came about when the Director discovered tapes during the making of the recent one (that featured Austin Butler and focused on Elvis’ relationship with “Col” Parker).

Has anyone seen Elvis: That's the Way It Is? This new movie sounds pretty much the same. I'd really like to know if the new one actually has anything new.

It was made in 1970 and has backstage footage, rehearsing and a Vegas performance. I saw it at the cinema and I also have it on DVD because it's awesome!

So looking forward to seeing this. My son went last week, and said some of the audience were in tears at the end.

I saw it yesterday. Superb unseen footage, I didn't appreciate Elvis when I was growing up, in fact I didn't like him at all or thought I didn't, The Beatles were everything and to me he was a leftover from a bygone era. In the last few years I've come to appreciate what an extraordinary talent he was. He had it all, the voice and sublime showmanship, I've never seen another performer who built the affinity he obviously had with his audiences. The hair, the sideburns,the rhinestone encrusted jump suits, complete with batman like cape on some, the jewellery, the sunglasses so wonderfully over the top, not only the King but the King of bling like no other. There was an interlude during one of his performances when mid song, he took to lying on the floor, I did feel, given he was in a more weightier mode that maybe some of his trouser seams might be under pressure

It was good to hear him give an insight into his thoughts on many aspects of his career, the awful films, which he really didn't want to do. All in all it was strangely emotional, I can understand why some people were in tears.

The costumes he wore were exceptionally heavy. Earlier ones were around 30lbs in weight but eventually ended up at 75lbs. It would have been utterly exhausting wearing those as he had also gained weight himself. I can't bear to watch him at the end, it's just heartbreaking knowing how he was forced to perform and how he suffered.

I love his earlier performances for this reason, he looks so cheerful and cheeky, just a youngster enjoying himself. In his later performances you can see the stress and the strain that life’s excesses have caused, his mental health here is every bit as bad as his physical health.
A life in the limelight without the care and sensible advice he needed took its toll as it does with so many youngsters swallowed up and than spat out by the music industry.

I loved Elvis, this film made me cry in parts. No other held an audience like he did. He had a fabulous sense of humour, kindness and loyalty and it was lovely seeing him so happy knowing what was to come. Do go and see ut if you get tge chance.
I remember that last show and how upset I was seeing him putting his all into his show though so ill. Colonel Parker and his doctor killed him. There will never be anyone like Elvis, he was very religious and hope he did go home as he used to say.

I'm 81 and due to have a hip replacement, and really scared.
I understand you have to be careful for the first six weeks, which when you are a widow, living alone, is a long time.I came from a huge family, but they have sadly gone as I was the youngest, and my only family live in the USA. Friends have offered help, but I'm independent.
Is there anyone out there who can offer advice and caml my, probably irrational fears?

My parents took my best friend and I to see TTWII in Leicester Square for my 14th birthday, in 1970. I still have the treasured LP (but not the huge poster that graced my bedroom wall)!

He was so badly treated it was awful really . I cant stand the actors pretending to be Elvis like others have said . I am looking forward to this film though showthe rwal deal .No one can touch him can they he had everything ? He had the looks, the stage presence,the humour , the musicality and of course the voice.

We went to Graceland 5 years ago it was fantastic also studio B where he recorded.

Interestingly he never wrote a song himself but was credited on some with others.
