What a disappointment to read that Loose Women has had their slot reduced. I record it so that I can watch it when I want, and also I don’t have to watch anything I’m not interested in I just rush it through. There is such trash on the television these days!

keepingquiet Sat 18-Apr-26 20:37:42

Each to their own but never watched this programme in full. I thought it was trash.

petra Sat 18-Apr-26 20:42:16

It has a reduced slot because a lot of viewers think it’s trash.

crazyH Sat 18-Apr-26 21:04:13

I used to watch it - I thought it was off-air !

Georgesgran Sat 18-Apr-26 22:04:46

I read the first sentence and thought the OP was being sarcastic. I think you’ve opened a can of worms gransruleok. Loose Women has always been trash,

Allira Sat 18-Apr-26 22:52:35

petra

It has a reduced slot because a lot of viewers think it’s trash.

They can reduce it to nil as far as I'm concerned.

Cardamom Sat 18-Apr-26 22:55:47

A good percentage of the "trash" on tv is/was Loose Women. Dross.

I thought it had been taken off! It’s just plain tripe!

Sarnia Tue 21-Apr-26 08:52:02

Anything where Katie Price appears has me reaching for the off switch.

Harris27 Tue 21-Apr-26 13:51:21

It’s rubbish.

Lesley60 Tue 21-Apr-26 13:57:42

I’ve never seen a full episode of this, I only see it when it’s on in my hairdressers
It appears to me these so called celebrities are getting paid good money to just sit there and gossip about people, not for me really

harrysgran Tue 21-Apr-26 14:11:04

I stopped watching a few years ago just seemed like a lot of women talking over each other

cc Tue 21-Apr-26 14:19:41

I've occasionally caught bits of it when I turned on the TV and have to say that I thought is was complete rubbish.

Barbadosbelle Tue 21-Apr-26 14:39:16

.

I did the same. For decades. Treated it like a magazine and watched the segments that I thought would be of interest. Great, interesting and knowledgeable panelists.

Then about five years or so ago, the panelists became mainly younger and brainless. It annoyed me that they were discussing important political and news items when it was obvious that they didn't even share one brain cell between them.

I continued recording but only watched if Janet Street Porter or Jane Moore were appearing - knowing that at least they would understand what was being discussed and respond knowledgeable and intelligently.

But a few months ago I took it off of 'Series Record', as even JSP and JM couldn't save it after the really really terrible studio revamp; such an ugly eyesore. And the decision to not have an live audience left it soulless. It all just all comes across as so so fake and contrived.

I haven't missed it.

If it’s on while I’m waiting for the News to start I mute the sound.

sixandahalf Tue 21-Apr-26 15:00:33

Sometimes, if I'm ill, I switch on the TV.
Think my record is about 3 minutes before I switch it off.

TerriBull Tue 21-Apr-26 15:05:03

I've only caught it occasionally, and agree with you Barbadosbelle, JSP and JM were the only women that had anything to say that was half worth listening to, maybe because they've both had a journalistic background The others come across as self absorbed, often vacuous and not particularly interesting. Maybe because they're reminiscent of similar we may have encountered in real life, who deliver a monologue in the vein of "it's all about me, I just talk about myself, my life, my kids, my significant other/s, house, my mental health, my addictions etc."

Bad enough in real life without actually watching it.

Grandmotherto8 Tue 21-Apr-26 15:12:27

Goodness, do people actually waste their valuable time watching these vapid women spouting nonsense? Proud to say I have not watched the programme for years, having inadvertently watched it once and been shocked at the poor quality of argument. Masterminds they ain't! The show is obviously on the way out as has been shortened and no longer has a live audience, there's hope yet.

Greciangirl Tue 21-Apr-26 15:27:06

It’s been taken of permanently now, and has been for some time.

Katie Price appeared on it a long time ago.

I think some of you are a bit out of touch now.

gransruleok Tue 21-Apr-26 18:48:30

Well Sarnia, I do enjoy some of the topics discussed - but I have never seen Katie Price on Loose Women - not even as a passing guest.

JPB123 Tue 21-Apr-26 21:20:47

I think it’s absolute rubbish.

inishowen Wed 22-Apr-26 08:42:17

I actually enjoyed it. It was something to watch while I ate my lunch. Jane Moore, Janet Street Porter and Christine Lampart were my favourites.

Magenta8 Wed 22-Apr-26 08:55:35

It is one of those programmes I thought I ought to like and I wanted to like. However, having dipped in occasionally over the years, I have never been able to watch an entire episode.

Personally, if it was taken off air tomorrow I wouldn't notice but if it still has a reasonably sized audience who still enjoy it it should still air.

Doodledog Wed 22-Apr-26 10:39:16

I don't watch it, but why do people need to put down the choices of others who do?

The OP must wish she hadn't bothered posting - a choice of TV show is hardly a controversial thing, but she has been roundly put down. TV is entertainment, and people's idea on what is entertaining vary - so what? I enjoy both Corrie and Big Brother, and have been told in no uncertain terms on here that both are rubbish and only for the unintelligent and uneducated. I may be either or both, but at least I'm not narrow minded enough to judge people based on their TV preferences or rude enough to tell them their choices are rubbish.

Assisted Parking Function. Has anyone got this option in their car, whereby you let go of the steering wheel at one point and just operate the accelerator and brake? Do you regularly use it for parallel and bay parking? Also to get you out of a tight spot when someone has boxed you in? I’ve had my car for almost 9 years and have tried/ trusted it twice. Obviously you can stop the automatic function and take over the manoeuvres at any point.
