Great to have 'Quiz Night' back!

I used to love University Challenge, way back in the 60 s, with Bamber Gascoigne. Didn’t know it was still going.

I only know because a friend put it up on facebook last night! The dog dreads it as Monday is always her nail clipping night which she hates.

Great news! I have to record them, but it makes Tuesdays better.

They are all uploaded into YouTube not long after broadcast so I can enjoy it here in Germany too. As I have often said, I would happily pay for a TV licence but that's not possible. I haven't watched yesterday's programmes yet but I am looking forward to spreading them over the week.

I love quiz night but Only Connect makes me feel totally inadequate at times and I'm lucky if I get a couple of questions right with University Challenge, usually the music ones. The science stuff is beyond me but I wouldn't miss the show

I love all the quizzes too - so glad they are back. Tennis gone, footie nearly over and maybe the heatwaves will get less bad - life might be returning to normal if we are lucky!!

Used to be a UC addict, but have gone off it a bit because of Amol Rajan’s gabbling and failure to enunciate. Dh and I still watch it though, and hope to get one or two questions right!

I'm the opposite. My partner started watching the old University Challenge ones that were on BBC4 and I couldn't watch them because I found Paxman so dull and his only comment after a correct answer was 'correct'. I much prefer it now.

Never watched Quiz Night. But liked
The 1% Club and Lee Mack. Quite silly really, but fun.

Can't stand Only Connect. Lots of sad nerdy men who probably can't get a girlfriend and need to get a life. Obscure really boring questions

With Gobby Queen Victoria Coren in charge. Does she ever shut up?

As for UC. It bit the dust for me when Bamber Gascoigne left. Truly intelligent man.

I believe that Count Binface is one of the people that write Victorias funny comments at the start of the programme?

I disagree, WithNobsOnIt, as there are lots of females on the OC teams and not all nerdy! I like VCM, but she's not to everyone’s taste. I do remember Ask the Family, too with Robert Robinson back in the day. I think there was a revamped version more recently, with Ann from the Chase, but may have got that wrong.
