This programme both breaks my heart and makes it sing with joy!

It’s just so sad for these dear lovely dogs rejected and living in kennels. Especially the older ones 😢😢😢

I just wanted to add a pic of Hattie when I first saw her, timid, sad, a vey sorry looking dog - and then the sleek, glossy and loving companion she turned out to be

I feel so sorry for you losing her during the pandemic. It must have been awful for you sad.

I love The Dog House . I know it’s staged. But the stories from potential owners makes you realise the joy and companionship that dogs bring .
I also love the one with Pete Wickes which I think is The Dogs Trust . And For the Love of Dogs at Battersea , although I’m not keen on Alison Hammond .

It was heart-breaking MayBee not least because the specialist hospital I had taken her to wouldn’t let me go in with her and I had to hand her over in the carpark.
I have always vowed that I will stay with my dogs and cuddle them right up to the end, but with poor lovely Hattie I had to give my consent over the phone , alone at home.
I felt I’d let her down

You didn’t let her down. The circumstances were beyond your control and I’m sure the people at the vets were lovely to her flowers.

Thank you - it's heart breaking whichever way it happens isn't it?

I only wish there were more Dog Houses around the country. It's a clever way to get stray and abandoned dogs new homes.

There are scores, if not hundreds, of dog rehoming charities around the country doing the same work, just not on TV.

Five of our rescue dogs came from four different dog rescue charities.

I am very interested in dogs and have lived with them all my life but I can’t watch any programme about dogs.
At the first bark my dog would start barking.

Paul Grady used to present FTLOD at Battersea, and was brilliant at it. Every so often he met a dog he was supposed to be advertising for rehoming, but weakened and took it home himself.

Paul O'Grady was a one off wasn't he, a true animal lover and very funny.
Alison Hammond must have been the worst possible choice to follow in his footsteps.

I can still picture him on that tv programme he did around teatime with Buster sitting on the desk.

Yes I remember that too MayBe70 Buster was real little character as well wasn't he.

It was a must watch for me every afternoon. But can’t remember anything else about the programme!

I absolutely love this programme, it always makes me cry, and I think the staff come across really well (particularly Helen, I think she's called, who is so empathic with both people and dogs)-I didn't know the receptionist was an actress, that's a bit odd, but she is funny-it's one of my favourite shows, it does great work for the dogs-what's not to like?
