Anyone feel the same - the wonderful Lesley Manville, the Punt character, superb plot, classy sets, and a happy ending to boot (I wont say anymore as it might be a spoiler)

But do give it a try if you like classy/almost traditional/ but with a twist crime drama.

I like it too but don't understand why Mr. Pund seems to be a ghost.

Do you mean the last scene in last night's episode?

SPOILER ALERT!
It's because he's a fictional character, when the author of the current book died, the page went blank as no-one knows what will happen next.

Oh yes Madame Blanc is awful but I like it! (Having a Dick Emery moment!)

I have not seen Madame Blanc but feel the same about The Good Ship Murder. It is really cheesy but I do enjoy it.

The Good Ship Murder always ends with a cheesy song.

We need a bit of cheese in these worrying times.

I love anything by Anthony Horowitz, and Lesley Manville is brilliant. I thought she was great in ‘Mum’, where she played a very quiet widow, whose family took advantage of her good nature. Dorothy Atkinson (Ludwig detective) was good as the snobby in-law!
I’m just about to check out Lesley Manville’s outfits online - she’s slimmer than me though! 🤨

I have just finished watching The Marble Hall Murders and loved it.
Likewise, I have Googled Lesley Manville’s clothes 😀👍

I thought she was great in ‘Mum’.

I thought she was an absolute doormat to her ghastly family, awful in-laws, gormless son and ditto girlfriend.

I felt like shaking her! (The ‘Mum’).

Madame Blanc may be top of the cheese list but I think there’s more to the characters than meets the eye and they’ve become lovable rather than ridiculous.

We’re supposed to believe in a romantic relationship between Jean and Dom when the obvious sexual chemistry is between her and Caron.

New series next week!

Just when I was wondering where Atticus Punt had got to, there he was in the last shot! About time, Atticus.
But who wrote the final episode if Alan Conway and Eliot Crace are both dead?

Aveline Sun 25-Oct-26 13:24:13

The detective

I know I’ve mentioned turquoise colour drenching upthread but are the set designers trying to tell us something or did they buy up a whole warehouse full of paint because nearly all the homes, offices and furniture were covered in the stuff!

It must be having a subliminal effect because I’ve just ordered some turquoise chalk paint to tart up some indoor plant pots and maybe some picture frames and… 🤔🤣
